Miss Emma McCluskey of Luck-
now passed away at Brucelea
Haven, Walkerton on Monday ,
December 10th in her 93rd year.
She had been a resident at Bruce-
lea since August 14th of this year.'
She was born in Lucknow on
April 2, 1881, a daughter of James
McCloskey and Annie MacLeod.
Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by a -brother Jim of •
Luclaiow a number of years ago.,
Miss McCloskey "spent her
entire life as a resident of Luck-
now where she was a faithful
member and worker in St. Peter's
Anglican. Church.
She began working as .a young
girl in the•dry goods store of D. R.
Macintosh and continued in this
work under different management.
In later years she managed the
Templeton Store and after
Mrs. Templeton's death bought
the business,' still using the Tem-
pleton name.
In December 1952 Miss McClos-
key sold her interests to. Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Ashton and retired
after over 50 years in business.
.The funeral service was held
at MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lticknow on Wednesday , Decem-
ber 12th. Rev. George Garratt
was minister.
Temporary entombment was
at South Kinloss Mausoleum with
final resting place South Kinloss
Cemetery. ,
Pallbearers were Raymond Led -
dy, , Jack Treleaven, J. L. Mac-
Milian Nixon, and Robert
Weston of Willowdale and John
Geoghegan of London.
Friends from out of town who
attended the funeral were Mrs.'
Whitehead .of Woodstock, John
Geoghegan of London, Mr. and
Mrs, Robert Weston and daughter
of Willowdale , Mrs. Leonard •

classes are integrated and teachers
and supervisors are very pleased
with'sthe results.
One of the main'reasons for this
set up is the sparse population in
the peninsuia and the one bus can
pick up' both elementary and sec-
ondary students and so save many
miles of travel for the bus systems
There are nineteen classrooms
containing Library Resource
Centre. Guidance area Special
Education room and cafeteria and
the students are taught
by twenty-two, teachers. The
school als0 has technical. shops, a
home economics and music rooms,
a double science laboratory, new
staff room , health room and ad-
rniristrative areas.
Guest speaker for the opening
was H. Fisher , Director, Supervis-
ory Services. Branch of the Ontario
Ministry of Education.

The Lucknow Womens Institute
• held their meeting on Tuesday
afternoon December 11th. The
committee served a lovely Christ-
mas dessert and, a cup of tea after
which the President Mrs.
Armstrong Wilson opened the meet
ing with the Ode and the. Mary
Stewart Collett. Business Was
dealt with.
The members voted to pay for
the plaque that has been placed
on the swimming pool fence so as
to complete their project.
It was arranged to 'send boxes
otcheer to the members of the In ,
stitute who are shut in at this
Christmas time.
Mrs. Alex MacNay gave a re-
port on the success of the Luck-
now Women's Institutes donation
of candy Ind cookies to the Wing-
ham Hospital Auxiliary, their don-
ations brought in the sum of
$35.45.
Mrs. Charles Steward gave the
"Cheerio" report and Mrs. James
McNaughton gave the Pinecrest
Manor report". / •

roll call was answered by "Mem-
ories of a Christmas concert".
Mrs. Stewa4 McGillivray played
'a lovely piano solo. Mrs. George
Whitby gave the motto "The
History of Christmas" and it was
very interesting and informative.
. Mrs. David Elphick gave a dem-
onstration of Christmas decora-
tions, showing some .lovely
wreaths and' table centres and
many new ideas of how to make
beautiful things out of
every day materials.
Mrs-. Charles Steward thanked
Mrs. Elphick and presented her
with a gift and the meeting was
closed by singing a Christmas -
Carol.
