SPORTS
Hockey and 'Volleyball have
become the favourite sports activ-
ities. In hockey, the girls had •
their first game on Friday , Nov-
ember 23, The teams are the
Panthers and the Tiger Cats. The
panthers have Barb Aitchison as
their captain and Mr. Errington
.as their coach. The Tiger Cats
have Jane Thompson as their
captain and Mr. Hazlitt as coach.
In the first game the Panthers won,
by a score of 2-0, Barb Aitchi-
son got both goals.
In boys' hockey the Bears de-
feated the Comets by a score of.
6-1. The Comets defeated the
Cougars by a score of 14-1. The
Chargers defeated the Cougars
3-2.
Mr. Finlayson 'is still walking
on air after. his Cornets won 14-1.
There is practice for the voile
ball tournament to be held in
Wingham on December 15th.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
DAY •
On Wednesday, November 21
students had, a holiday.while. the.
Teachers had .activities to assist
them with their teaching. The,
morning was spent at this school
working at Reading and Integrated
Studies while the afternoon was
spent at Belgrave school where a
workshop on-Mathematics was
conducted by the Math Consult-
ant Mr. Stevenson.
ESSAYS
Many, students from Grade and
8 have submitted essays in this
contest. • We will be interested to
see if your poems and essays are
accepted by the judges.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Activities around the school
indicate that Christmas is not far
away. Bulletin board singing
and art lessons, display this happy
season .. Students are practising
for the Christmas concert to be
held on December 20 at 8.15 p.m.
