There,were rosettes to fourth place,.in addition, first place winners received•valuable prizes donated by various merchants in Lucknow. Gold ;.silver and'bronze medal-, lions were awarded to the persons With the highest total pbints scor- ed in each division. A passenger in the MacDonald car, Reg Camp- bell of Downsview ,• was uninjured. The initial collision between the Mawhinney and MacDonald ear was comparatively minor, • but the Mawhinney car veered out of control and crashed into the front of the car of James Montgom- ery which was parked on the north side of the road in front of his apartment , the old Legion Hall building: The passenger's side of the Mawhinney vehicle was caved in upon this impact and it contin- ued on to strike a second parked vehicle , that of. Wallace Houst,on, which was parked on the south , side of the street in front of Finn lay's warehouse. Damage was, ex-, tensive to the Montgomery car but very minor to the Houston vehicle.. The MacDonald vehicle also re- ceived very minor damage and Mr. MaeDonald was unhurt. The injured were treated at the scene. Both were removed to . Mingham Hospital where Mervyn- died shortly after.. Mervyn Hodgins was born and raised . in Lucknow and- attended school here. At the time of his death , he was employed at the Foundry, in.Wingham. He resided with his .parents at their' Lucknow home. • The youngest member of .a fam- ily of seven boys, he is survived by his parents , Irene 'and Oscar Hodgins of Lucknow; brothers • Clayton, of Clinton; Melvin, Alvin., LaVerne and Chester of London and Lynn of Lucknow.
