In an evening service in North
Street United Church, Goderich
on Friday. August 31, 1973, Jo
Anne Alton of Liicimow became
the bride &John Sutton Hughes
of Goderich. The double-ring
exchange of vows was heard ,by
Rev. Robert L. Rayrnont.
Lighted, tapers in candelabra
adorned with white shasta mums,
yellow gladioli and emerald
greenery illuminated the altar.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert B,. Alton,
Lucknow, and, Dr. and Mrs. Ray- .
mond W. Hughes, Goderich, are
the parents, of the groom.
Lorne H; botterek; Goderich,
presided at the organ and the
bride's uncle , .Edward Gillin, of
Listowel, sang "0 Perfect Love"
• during' the processional. and "The
Wedding Prayer" as the couple
knelt at the altar. During the
sighing of the register', Mr. Dot-
terer played "Toccato in F Major"
by C. M. Widor. '
Mr. and Mrs. Alton gave their
daughter in marriage. , Her form-
al gown of white silk brocade was
fashioned on prinCess lines with a
low scooped neckline , long bell
sleeves and a short train. A Jul-
iet cap of matching material corn
pleted her ensemble arid she car-
ried a sheath of white ros s.
Mrs. David Harris of dney,
Australia, was her sister's matron
of honor and the bridesmaids
were Mrs. Thomas Jarciak, God -
erich; Mrs. George Smyth , cous-
in of the bride ,' Auburn; and Mrs.
Ric Graham, sister of the groom,
Prince George, British Columbia.
The attendants wore floor-,,
length gowns of forest green
polyester crepe patterned in
autumn shades of bronze, greens,
gold and yellow. The molded'
bodices featured ,low scooped
necklines and long, full sleeves
caught to bands at the wrists and
softly flowing skirts fell from the
empire wasitline. Their only
ornament was a 'silver heart shap-
ed lotket, the gift of the bride.
They each carried a single long-
stemmed yellow rose. , '
The winsome little flower girl
was the bride's niece, Karen Ir-
win., of Peterborough', in a white
bouffant dress with yellow accent
and she carried a basket of small
white mums and yellow rosebuds.
Ringbearer was the groom's neph-
ew , John Graham of Prince
George, British Columbia wear-
ing a white suit accented with
green and brown.
Groomsman was. Peter Bettger of
Windsor and Donald Alton, Luck-
how ; brother of the' bride , Robert
Wallace, .Goderich, and Michael
Kraemer, LondOn, ushered the
guests who were present from
Australia, Japan, the Western
Provinces and points in the United
States and Ontario.
The reception was held at the
Maitland Country Club where the
bride's mother received' her guests

Mrs. Rod compbell . .
Had 90th Birthday
Mrs. Rod Campbell of Lucknow
observed her 90th birthday on Fri-
day, Septe ba 21st,, Open
House was h d in her honour Sun-
day, Septem er 23rd at the home
of Mi. and . Harry Lavis.
,Many friends and neighbours
called to extend best wishes.
Mrs. Campbell is the former
Catherine Fisher. Mr. Campbell
'passed away in f953.
Present for the occasion were
two daughter's Mrs. Harry (Mary)
Lavis'of Lucknow, Mrs. Catherine
Campbell of Wingham and two
'sons Harold and Bob of Lucknow;
two"sisters Mrs. E. A. (Marion)
Reynolds of Toronto, Mrs. Philip
(Jean) Stewart of Lucknow and
one brother Bob Fisher , Lucknow.
Mrs. Campbell has eleven
grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.
Kingsbridge
Girl Guides
On Saturday , September the
29th the Kingsbridge Girl Guides
went on a hike to Rosinki's
beach.. The morning 'went
quickly while the girls collected
sea shells, pebbles and leaves.
At twelve-thirty the guides en
joyed lunch in one of Mr. and
Mrs. Rosinki's cottages, later
going to the beach to toast
,marshmallowi. They went
through Mr. 'and Mrs. Rosinki's
park and tried to identify differ-
ent typeS of trees.
At three o'clock the group pack-
ed up their collections and head-
ed home-. All really enjoyed the
hike thanks to Mr. and Mrs.
Rosinki.

delphinium blue silk jersey and
pink rosebuds formed her corsage.

inald seddington , St. Catharines ,'
assisted with the duties of toast-
master.
For travelling to Quebec City,
the bride changed to a coat dress
of hand-loomed wool plaid in
shades of green and purple. Her
accessories were black patent and
she wore a corsage of white roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Hughes are resid-
ing in Montreal, Quebec , where
the ,groom is completing his Mast-
er's degree in Business Administra•
tion at Sir George Williams Univ-
ersity.

groom, entertained at a brides-
maids' luncheon at the Little Inn,
Bayfield; Mrs. T.' Jarczac held a
miscellaneous shower at her home
in Goderidh; neighborhood. gadget
shower for the brill a,1 couple was
hosted by Mrs. G. Ellis, Goderich;
Mrs. Herbert Wilkin, aunt of the
bride, and Mrs. George Smyth, •
LtAcknow , held a "money-tree"
shower at Mrs. Willdn's home
which was attended by' relatives
of the bride and the bride's Luck-
now neighbors made a presenta-
tion.
