Ideal weather favoured the Luck
now 'Fall Fair with a good crowd
in attendance and a splendid con-
cert was presented 'in the' evening.,
John "Jock", Adams, a familiar
figure in Lucknow for over half
a century,' died in September
1913 at the age of ninety. He was
born in Ayreshire , Scotland in ' .
1823 and came ,to Canada around
1854. Little was known of his
early history. On his headstone in
South Kinloss Cemetery , erected
by his friends , is this epitaph: "At
rest he is from trouble here - a
poor but honest man".

charge of our first assembly.
After the singing of 0 Canada ,
Helen MacIntyre read the Bible
Story , "Fishers of ,Men. " David
-Excel led in 'the Lord's Prayer.
We sang two verses of the song
"Fishers of Men", .
4-A poem "Grandpa Dropped His
Glasses" was read by Jennifer
Tait. All the children in Room, 1
sang two nonsense songs. Riddle's
were given by Marc Ackert.
Some of the, children.in the
Grade Three Reading Group. acted'
out the play, "Room Enough" .

Bill Pappas rented the Playhouse
Theatre , which, had been °per-,
ating for the previous five, years,
to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Galdner. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Pappas and two .
children moved to Brantford where
Bill went into the restaurant busi-
ness with his brother7in-law.
A riddled safe , stolen from the
Teeswater Farmer's Co-operative;
was found in a field near Paves
Lake. The uninhabited sideroad
was used as a secluded spot to •
smash the 700 pound safe open.
Valuable papers in the safe, in-
eluding the company's ledger ,
were recovered.
The hydro Ole line on the
north side of the local business
section was removed to further
improve the wider "new look" of
Campbell Street. Installation of
the lights on this side completed
the transformation to brighten
the' "main drag".

SEPTEMBER 1933
School had reopened on Sept-
ember 5th at St. Helens with
Gordon MacIntyre of Paisley as
principal and. Miss Beatrice Mc-,
Quillin as assistant; Watson. Davis
was at Belfast; Miss Lena Hackett
at S. S. No. 3 and George Mitch-
ell at Fordyce.
Graham. pinkney was teacher
at S. S. NO. 8; Alex Smith re-
placed Andrew Thompson at S:S.
No. 9 and William Henderson a
at S. S. No. 10.

wells, cisterns and springs becom-
