when they moved to Ripley. They
have one sont'Eugene of Roseville,
Michigan who was present for the
occasion. Mrs. Blue has one
brother Robert of DetrOit and a
sister Mrs., V. A. 'Mowbray of
Lucknow , who were both present .
for the anniversary celebrations.
Mr. Blue is the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. James M. Blue
and one of a family of eight:

ald, all of Ripley and predeceas-
ed by two sisters., Mrs. ElyMer

• The wedding of 50 years ago
was known. as the "Blue Bell Wed
ding", a fitting name in a Scot-
tish community.
THAT 17 Lucknow Boy/Scouts and
their leaders Bill Searle and Gary
Koyle camped at,Fishermen's
Cove, Kinloss, from Friday night
to Sunday afternoon.
THAT Mr. and Mrs. Jim Reed
were responsible for an hour long'
radio show on CBCradio
Sunday concerning the town of
Goderich. Beverley and Jim,
free lance writers, and broad-
casters, prepared the show dur-
ing the summer months and inter
viewed about 50 people in Gqd-
erich. Jim did .the interviews
while his wife edited theni for
the program. Jim is a native of
Dungannon and the couple, spend
summers and week ends' at the
former school there which has
been converted into a residence.
THAT a hydro interruption for
about 11/2 hours on Wednesday
evening of last week resulted
from an automobile striking a
main feeder line in the RiVers-
dale area 'cutting service to a
wide, area. It was the second
such interruption in four days,
the. earlier one being on. Fall .
Fair night when proceedings at
the evening concert were black-
ed out for an hour.
THAT a 4elay in the developing
of pictivres of the Fall Fair baby
contePt winners made it impos-
sible to include them in this
issue. They will appear next
week.
THAT Mrs-e-Stewart Mullin rec-
ently sold her,home on Ludgard
Street in Lucknow to. Brian Mart-
in of Wingham. Mr. and Mrs.
Martin and two small children
are residing there. Mr. Martin ,
is employed at Douglas Point.
Mrs,. Mullin is • now living in a
mobile home in Goderich.
THAT Fall Fairs continued 'to be
the order of the day.. Dungannon
Fall Fair. 'is this Thursday, Sept.?
ember 27 'at the Fair Grounds in
Dungannon. Horse races are al-
ways an attraction at this, Fair.

opened the Lucknow Fall Fair,

THAT Mark Johnston of Lucknow
quietly observed his '82nd birth-
day on Saturday, September
22nd at his home with members
of his family.
THAT Duffy McQuillan of Luck-
now has purchased the home and
property of M.S. Ernest (Marie)
Button at the northern edge of
• town, on the HolyroOd road, and
will move in this Week. The
McQuillan family have been re-
siding in the former Mullin bake
shop apartment on main street
THAT of eight couples married in
1913 in this community only ,two
are still living today. Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Reed and Mi. and Mrs.
Wes Joynt both have just marked
their 60th wedding anniversary.

(Dorothy Alton) of Sydney, Aus-
tralia have returned home after a
two week holiday with her parents
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Alton, Luclulow
and members of the Altdn family.
David and DorOthy came to Luck-
now prior to her sister Joanne's
wedding to John Hughes of Goder-
ich which took place on August
30th.
This was the 'first time Mr. and
Mrs. Alton had met their son-in-
law, it, being David's first visit to
Lucknow. . .
Joanne and her husband John
are now residing in Montreal,
where John has' commenced his'
last year for, his Master's. Degree
in Business at the Sir George
William' University and Joanne
has accepted a position at the
Montreal General Hospital.

named whip of the Conservative
