guests were from Timmins, Ridge-

Manitoba. Mrs. Foster received
many gifts, a fitting expression 'of
the esteem in which she is held

The regular September meeting
of Whitechurch W.I. was held
Monday evening; September '10
at 8.30 in Whitechurch Com-nun-
ity Memorial Hall. The presid-
ent Miss. Merle Wilson welcomed,

money they made last Winter.

by suggestions of how to
postpone old age.
The 'motto, How to make and
keep friends was given by Mrs.
Johnston Conn. God said it was
not good for man to, be alone and
all down through the ages it has
been the custom to have some
one close whom we could call a,
friend. It is a goOd•thing to be
rich and a good thing to be strong
but it is a better thing to be lov-
ed by many 'friends. It is 'good to
keep all our friends but never do
