Mrs. Delbert Hedley read an
address and the gifti were present-
ed . Roy made a fitting reply and
all joined in singing "Happy,
Anniversary" and Grace, after
which lunch was served. They
received a beautiful picture, two
fancy blankets. anda chrome dish,
also gifts of riioney.

Lucknow Fair Is
Represented By

Miss Betty Lou Poco, represent-
ing the Welland-Niagara district,
was chosen frbm among 73 con-
testants as "Miss Sweetheart of the
Fairs"' at the Canadian National
Exhibition in Toronto last week.
.Miss Dianne Finn of Paris Was first
runner up, while Miss Anne 'Mor-
risey of Exeter, was chosen as
second runner up.
The preliminary judging took
place at 9.30 a. m. at the band-
shell on the 'opening day of the •
exhibition. All the contettants
,parents and Fair representatives
were guests of honour at the din-
ing lounge of the Queen Elizabeth
building for the dinner. An over-
flow crowd of 500 attended this •
function.

Society. She Was accompanied ,
by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm,

, • At 4 p.m. twelve finalists were
chosen. Other finalist were
from Meaford, Burks Falls, Six
Nations Indian Reserve, Richmond,
Clinton ; Dundalk, Mildmay,
Bolton and Collingwood., ,
At 5p.m. the tension was
clitnaxed with the announcernent
of the 'winners. Miss Poco receiv-
ed '$1,000,, two airline tickets, a
set of luggage, a bouquet of roses,
as well as other gifts.
All contestants received a box
of gifts from the Purex Co. and
an arm bracelet from Rimbrandt
Jewellers. The girls were billet-
ed at Addison Hall.
