The first Sunday in October 1952
was an eventful day for a number
of Dutch families who had settled
in this community when they held
their own service in the Lucknow
Presbyterian Church and continued
to dpso each Sunday afternoon.
These new Canadians, members
of the Christian Reform.Church of
Holland, filled the basement of
the Presbyterian Church with an
attendance of about 100 adults and
children. Some of the hymns were
sung in English. The sermon was
preached in their ,own language.
Garnet Henderson was the newly.
appointed C.N.R. agent in Luck-
now. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson, and
family had previously been in
Port Colborne.
