were not able to attend the picnic
due to illness.
An invitation was extended
from Mr. and Mrs. John Collinson
and family to attend , the following
day at their summer home Hem- •
lock Haven at the lake. A draw
was made by Mrs. N. J. MacKen•
zie fora set of playing cards,
which were won by Brad MacKen-
zie. The gathering was closed
with the singing of the MacKen-
zie Ode and a hope and prayer to
meet again next year.

was cut short by a sudden down-

the lucky plate, Good-byes were
then said and everyone returned
home looking forward to another
year. .

Members of the Clinton Christ-
ian Reformed. Church foirned*a •
choir for the Sunday evening song
service led by Aire Van Der Ende
with devotions by Rev. Beukema.
Twenty-nine residents were
honoured on Wednesday afternoon
at the July birthday party sponsor-
ed by the Brussels and Cranbrook
Women Institutes. Mrs. .i'vonne
Knight introduced the program
which included a piano duet-by
Sharon and Roseanne Engel .with
the "Brussels Stompers" rhythm
band playing and singing several
old favourites. Members of the
band are Wilma Hemingway,
Peggy CUdmore, Alberta. Smith,
Leona Armstrong, Alma Watson,
Leona Connelly and Lulu Kerr.
A vocal trio Dianne Cox, Kathy'
Hart and. Richard Knight sang the
clock song and a quintet Sharon,
Roseanne and Tracy Engel,
Brenda and Karen Knight sang and'
acted the old number "Mothers
Old Kitchen Apron". The cele-
brants were presented with a gift
and the appreciation of residents
was extended to the ladies by
:Mrs, Mary Johnston who celebra-
ted her 99th Birthday this month.
Cup Cakes and lemonade were ser-
ved to one •hundred and fifty res-
idents and guests by the institute '
members who made a tour of •the
building to visit with residentS
from their area
The Rhythm Band from Goder-
ich Phsychiatric Hospital, with.
Gordon Harrison as leader. and
accompanist, provided the
'Family Night ptcgram. Shorty
Munro was M.C. fot the even-
ing as well as singing a solo,
:gave impressions -of the
bag pipes arid hawaiian guitar.
The band played a number of Old
selections and dances. This has
become .a very popular progra
with the residents and we hop to
have another visit frorn this group
in September.

The descendants of Neil Bain
MacKenzie and Mary MacRae
gathered at the Ashfield Park on
Saturday, July 21 for the eleventh
annual reunion. The afternoon
.was spent reminiscing and partic-
ipating in the activities prepared
by Charlene and Lynda Barrett
assisted by, their uncle Ross Mac-
Kenzie.
