Co-op Purchases
VValkerton Plant
United Cooperatives of Ontar-
io has purchased the Walkerton
fertilizer plant of Cyanimid of •
Canada for an undisclosed price.
The announcement was made by
Gordon Mather , Manager of
UCO's Crop Products Department.
The effective take-over date will
be the first week in September.
The plant will increase the
capabilities of'the co-operatively7
owned fertilizer distribution sys-
tem in Bruce and Grey Counties
and parts of neighbouring' counties.
The plant will supply farmers in
the immediate area with bulk
and bagged fertilizer, and will
supply farmers further away •
through their local co-operatives
and UCO' branches.
UCO' will increase the Anyd-
rous Ammonia supply and service
from the Walkerton plant. Co-op
Aqua Ammonia service will con-
tinue directly from co-op retail
outlets in the area.
