Judging from the absence of dogs in our back yard this sum- mer, it appears to be working. 'The first session of swimming • instruction at the Lucknow and District Swimming. Pool has been cornplete,d. July was a perfect month for swimming, Neather- wise, and the area's new pool has not gone unused for very many daylight hours,. It has been a fine addition to the recreation life of .the area and •those who worked haxd for-its establishment can be -well proud of the final results. But let's not forget, it's not paid for yet, a fact we can't ignore while cooling ourselves -in the summer temperatures. Many well intentioned residents still plan to make a donation, to the pool fund and there never was a better , time than now. M. Harp- er , was read and its publishing in The Sentinel was authorized. It listed a surplus of $887 in the village account; deficit of $842 for Hydro; surplus of $3053 for waterworks and surplus of $116 for the arena. . • • 'The clerk was authorized to re-invest $28,141 hydro funds with Canada Trust for 5 years at 8 1/2%; also re-invest $15,000 with Bank of Montreal in term deposit for one year at 3/4110.
