held on Sunday, June 24 in
Stratford Park with 53 in attend-
ance. After an enjoyable lunch .
at 1 p.m. a lively ball game was,
enjoyedwhile others visited.

minute of silence was observed in
memory of departed members.

Ashfield Township councilmet
on June 19 with all members pres-
ent.
After the minutes'were'approv-
ed, Gary Davidson, Huron County
Planner, addressed 'the meeting
on the proposed amendment. of the
Huron County Official Plan°as it •
effects May Park Develpment Ltd.
on pan of lbts 40, 41 and 42.
After discussion with council and
ratepayers, the amendment no. 2
to the Official Plan was approved
which changes the land use in the
area from Greenbelt and Agricul-
tural to Seasonal Residential. •
In other business council grant-
ed approval to Bayne MacLen-
nan, lot 35, 36, .Lake Range to
place a used school. bus on .the
beach in front of his property in
an effort to aid in curtailing the
erosion of the bank.
Council agreed to accept the
road allowance' known as Hills -
view Drive, part of lot 45, Lake
Range as a dedication when deed
is submitted by Donald Blue.
Council approved applications
for severance for Harold Glenn
and Duncan Simpson.
They instructed the clerk to
write the Land Division Commit-
tee ,
ommit-tee, Huron County to request the.
550 dedication area on part of lot
3, concession 4, eastern division,
a strip of land and adjacent to side
road 3 and .4 which may be requir-
ed for future road improvements.
Council approved an applica-
tion for Tile. Drainage Loan for
John Pentland.
They endorsed a resolution from
the Town of Oakville requesting
new legislation for penalties on
dogs running at large.
The meeting adjourned to meet
July 3rd at 7.30 p.m.

KINGSBRIDGE NEWS
On,Sunday, Dominion Day, a
special Memorial Service took
place at the Cemetery 'of St. Jos-
eph's Church following Mass.
Heading the procession to the
Cemetery were Rev. Father Ed
Dentinger, Brother Carl: Voll,.
altar boys, . Boy Scouts, Cubs and
Guides all of the. Kingsbridge
area. Following the short 'ser.-
vice, floral wreaths in remem-
brance of our Brave who died -for
their Country, were placed by
representatives of the Scouts,
Cubs, Guides and the C. W.L.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Heffernan.
and family. of Newmarket and
Miss Blanche Belodeau of Water-
loo were visitors over the week
end with Mr. and Mrs. Ormond
Heffernan.
Mrs. John Sheardown is enrolled
in a four week summer course'in
physical education at London .
Teachers•- College.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hogan and
Rhonda and. Mr, and Mrs. Dennis
Hogan are on a three week trip
by car to Brandon; Manitoba
to visit with relatives and possib-
ly will travel on to the Calgary
Stampede as well.
Henriette Van Diepenbeek, who
will enter grade 13 in the fall, is
the new Avoir lady in the Kings-
bridge area.

A&W Youth" Club
On Wednesday;: June 27 the A &
W Youth Club met at Brookside
School °for the first night of the.
summer months -where they will
be meeting every, week
throughout the summer from 7
p.m. to 9 p.m,.
Our leaders are - Mrs. Barry.
Hackett, Mrs., Arnold Campbell
and helpers are Mrs. Cliff Living-
ston and Miss Connie Carrick.
We had 29 out, which was good
for the first night. We are hoping
that those 13 and under will come
to the Youth Club throughout the
summer. It costs 10¢ a night for
expenses to help pay for materials
for crafts. '
The first night was fun night.
Some of the games were gym-
nastics, dodge ball, telephone
message, etc. ending with a
sing song.
A discussion followed on what
to do next meeting and we decid-
ed to start the evening with a
game of baseball, and then all
do macaroni art.
