Family/Dinner On 45th Anniversary On Saturday, June 16th The Log Cabin, Lucknow was the setting for a lovely dinner in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Whytock's 45th wedding anniversary. Brunelle, minister -of community and family services, said in Walkerton on Wednesday of.last week. He was; speaking• at the -opening of a,$640,000, 66 -resident addi- tion to the, county home, Bruce- lea Haven. • The campaign is being opened in conjunction. with Senior Citiz- ens' Week.' One' third of the average life will soon be spent in retirement and to make this. retirement purp- oseful'there must be personal planning, the minister said. • "The prospect of leisure timecan be frightening, if we are not prepared for it," he said. There is suggestion that the• retirement age should be lowered from 65. Citizens should make their plans long before retirement comes..Co -operaiion ,of unions has been asked in the prepara- tion and older poeple can make a real contribution by telling the younger element of retirement problems, Mr. Brunelle said. "We have .become a leisure - oriented society and the time to prepare for retirement is at 40 or over."
