Grades 6 and 7 were divided
up into classes 7, 8 and 7/8. We
had two classes, then we had
recess at about ten past ten. After
recess we had another three class-
es then a barbecue. We each got
two hamburgers and a :can of pop.

After this came the battle of
the century - students vs teachers,
in a baseball game. The students
of both schools grouped together
in cheering the students on.
There were banners flying and
both R.D.H.S. and R.H.C.S.
cheerleaders cheered for the stud

elks.
After this, we went back into
the school where we had four
classes before the dismissal bell
went at 3.25. The buses departed
at 3.3Q.
• Everyone seemed to think that
Ripley District High School is a
pretty nice school.

Burlington entertained several
relatives at their summer home
here, on Sunday to a chicken
barbecue to help celebrate Mrs.
Bennet's mother's birthday. Those,
present were Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Tout and Susan, Mr. and Mrs.
Lee Emmerton, Scott and Kim ,
all of Kincardine and Mr. and Mrs
Ray Hamilton Joanne and Wendy.
Mrs. W. R. Hamilton was ad-
mitted to Wingham Hospital on -
Friday. Her many friends hope
that she will be feeling better
very soon.
PRESENT GIFT •
Mrs. Harry Colling was the
hostess for the June meeting of
the Olivet unit of St. Andrew's
U.C. W. on Monday evening of
last week. At the conclusion
of the meeting Mrs.. Howard Robb,
newlywed, was presented with a
gift from the group.
Nancy McGuire is attending a
leadership. trai ning course this
week in Clinton. Also attending
from the Ripley area are Janice
Reeves, Carol MacKay and Dorin-
da Forster.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Peters, who
are holidaying in the Kincardine
area, visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Oscar White and May on Sunday.

Holyrood hall on Friday evening

who are leaving this community.

with the high lady Mrs.. D. Fors-
ter; high gent F. A. Murray;
closest birthday Douglas Forster.

called to the platform. Mrs.
Lorne Eadie read an address ex-
pressing regret at losing this
couple from the community.
Mrs. Ed Thompson made the pres-
entation of a lovely space saver
and a gift 'of money. Del thank-
ed everyone for the gifts and the
lovely party and all joined in
singing "For they are jolly good
fellows" after which a bountiful
lunch was served. John Frook
held the lucky cup. A social
chat was enjoyed. ,
