GRADE FIVE TRIP by Peggy Elliott

On Monday; May 14th the -
.Grade Five class went on a field
trip. First we were taken on a
tour of the O.P.P: Office in
Walkerton by Constable Gaeler.
We saw the Communications
room, .the lock-up cells, and
each pupil had a souvenir finger
print taken.
The rest of our day was spent
at the Saugeen Valley .Conserva-
tion Headquarters near Hanover.
Each group spent half the time
studying the woodlot .trees and
wildflowers and half the time
doing stream studies. Wesaw
the source of the Saugeen River
which was about thirty-five feet
deep.

On 'Wednesday, May 16, the
Ripley -Huron Central School
girlsdefeated the W. E. Thomp
son girls 18 to 10. The game
was played in the Ripley Public
School gym. Ripley's next game
is against Bruce Central in the
Kincardine High School on May
17. •

Ripley girls* basketball, team de-
feated the Bruce. Central team.
The Score was 11 to 7. This game
was held in the gym at the Kin-
