Volcano Area
A volcanic eruption cracked,
open an island off Iceland's south
coast last week and forced a mass
exodus of.nearly all the 5,500
inhabitants.
The volcano, dormant for
about 7,000 years, came to life
without warning and blasted a rift

Heimaey in the Westman islands

Elin is a friend of Carol Camp-
