to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne",
followed by a sing song of ScotOh
melodies led by Walter Dexter
and accompanied by pianist Mrs.

Mrs. Jim McNaughton gave sev-
eral readings concerning Scottish •
Customs and relating to "Bobbie
Burns". She also displayed' some
Scotch souvenirs which•she brought
home fromScotland after her re-
cent visit horne.

Mouth organ selectiOns were
given by Frank Scott and Walter'
Dexter favoured with two Scotch
songs. Bill Johnston of Amberley
delighted the audience with his,
dancing, accompanied by piper
McQuillan.
Mrs. MacMillan then called
Mrs. Walsh, and Aubrey Higgins
to the fro .. Mr. Higgins present-
ed Mrs. alsh with her past
presidents( in and spoke of
her work during her term as presid
ent. Mrs. Walsh replied and
thanked all the executive who had
made her work so enjorable.
Cards were then played and a
1 - lovely lunch. of 'scones and
h oatmeal cookies were served,. and
I enjoyed by all. Piper McQuillan

The minutes of the last annual
meeting were read by Bill Andrew.
The 'financial report was given
and explained' by Don Huff. The
firm of G. H. Ward and Partners
was engaged to audit the books
again in 1973.
• The president's report was given
by Murray Henderson. The gas
truCk accident on.' March 18 and
the fertilizer plant fire on March
25th, approximately three to four
weeks prior to Seeding ., were a
severe blow to' the,Operations of
the Co-op duririg 'the year. Al-,
though the board and manager
'worked hard to, get a temporary ,
setup operating, seeding was al-
!ready in progress. This was,the
department that caused the net
earnings to drop from $16\,000
in 1971, to $4500 in 1972. The
store and petroleum department
showed a very satisfactory earning.
At the present' time , the fertil-
izer plant has been reconstructed
With plans to be of top service in
the spring Of thii year.
EVan Keith' made the announce-,
meet that no patronage dividend
would be paid, to members for
purchases to October 31st;. 1972.
A section of the by-laWs were
deleted on approval of the Meet-
ing. It concerned the •
•
deduction Of funds from the pat-
ronage return allocated, not to
exceed/$1 per year, and to be
paid to the Co-operative Union
of Ontario for educational pur-
poses.
Retiring directors this year were
'Grant Curran, Blake Alton and
:Charlie Wilkins, all eligible for .
re-election.
Nominated for directors were
I Blake Alton,, Grant'Curran,
Charles, Wilkins, Glen Walden,
Albert Taylor , Bob Gilchrist and
'Jim Drennan.
