Trinity United Church, Ashfield
Township was the setting for a
lovely wedding on pedember 2nd.,
1972. Purple flowers inset in
white satin bows marked the pews
reserved fix. the guests-on the
aisle, down which Diane Ruth
Zinn walked with her father to
become the bride of Ronald John ,
Ferguson, White gladiolus, white
and mauve mums and white cand:-
les made a beautiful background
for the 3 o'clock double ring cer-
emony performed by Rev. James-
Hummel,
'The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Warren Zinn, R. R. # 2,
Lucknow ; and Mr. And Mrs. Em-
erson Ferguson, R. R. #1,
Clifford are the parents of the
groom:
Mrs. Ruth Alton presided at the
organ and Miss Mary Anne Alton
sang "Q Perfect Love"
before the cerernonyand "We've
Only Just Begun" during the sign-
ing of the register.
The bride wore a floor length
wedding gown of white sheer
organza. The high 'standup col.;
lar and the cuffs of the-fall
length sleeves were trirhmed in
delicate daisy patterned swiss
guipure lace:. The bodice was
accentuated by vertical trim of

a Juliet cap. She carried a purp-
le orchid surrounded by white and
purple sprayed carnations in a
cascade formation.
,Some 400' guests attended 'a
dance later in the evening in the
school auditorium which was dec-
orated with white bells and purple
streamers and 'white and mauve
mums. Music was supplied by the
Ron Jasper Quintette of Stratford
and Blake's U.C. W. provided ,

Miss Bonnie Maize, friend of
the bride was maid of honour.
The bridesthaids were Miss Sandra
Keith, cousin of the bride and.
Miss Rosales Hackett , friend of
the bride. Miss. Lynn Alton was ,
flower girl. The bridal attend-
ants were gowned alike in A-line
_formal downs of deep_Turple--silk
velvet ,with standup collars, long
sleeves ending in a ben shaped ,
cuff at the wrists. They each
wore a birthstone pin, a gift from
the bride. They carried a cas-
cade of white mums and variegat-
ed mauve and purple carnations:,
Gary Douglas, R..R. # 2', Clif-
ford , friend of the groom, was the
best Man. Ushers were Terry
-Zinn , -Luc know brother of the-
bride and. Stephen Pothery, Kitch-
ener, brother-in-law of the
groom.
The mother of the bride receiv-
ed the guests for the dinner which
was catered to by Trinity U.C. W.
in Brookside Public Schodl Audi-
torium. She wore a floor-length,
ng-s-leeved-gown-of-lavende
peau de sole with matching coat.
A White gardenia corsage complet-
ed her ensemble.
The groom's mother wore a
formal length, gown of blue crimp-
lene and a corsage of pink carna-
tions..
For their trip to the Northern
States, the bride changed to a
brown polyester' knit dress with
off-white trim. Over her should-
ers she wore an off=white mohair
shawl.
The -couple will reside at Apt: --
206, Waterloo Apts. Goderich.
The groom is employed 'by Camp-
bell -Transport, Blyth and the
'bride is on the staff of the Region-
al Assessment Office.
Guests were present from Oak-
ville, Geraldton, London, Kitch-
ener-, Milton4 Oshawa4 Goderich,
Clinton, Clifford, Wingham and
Gorrie.
Mrs. Zinn entertained at an
open house for her daughter on
November 28th. Prior to her
marriage, Diane was honoured by
several surprise showers; .at the
home of Miss Bonnie Maize by •
girl' friends; in Clinton, at the
home of Mrs. Jim Fitzgerald' by
the-girirtrf-the-Regiondl Assess- '"-
ment Office. Also in „Clinton a
kitchen shower was held by rela-
tives of the bride. A large corn-
Triunity shower was held in Trinity
United Church where the bride
received many beautiful and use-
ful gifts.
