The Psychology class at RDHS
is operating in full force as it
launches, into second term studies
under the guidance of principal
Mr. William' Turvill. The class
is presently studying the symbols
and• concepts of language, and
consequently students are under
taking an interesting project in
co-operation with the. Ripley-
Huron Central School. •
The purpose of this, project is
to observe language patterns in
Tchoo-Tchildren with the use of
tape recordings of interviews.
Handling the six year-olds were
Debbie Tranter and Karen Elliott,,
while Bonnie Boyle and Joyc
Elliott conducted sessions with
ght-ye-af,o-Ids. S ally-Eltiotrwrie
Kathy Farrell •talked with nine
year olds, and Roy Thorneycroft
intervieWedlten and eleven year
at RDHS as the town Water was,•
temporarily, declared unfit to
drink by health authorities. For
those engaged in physical educa-
lion classes and intramural volley-
ball and table tennis contests,
this was indeed a, hardship. But
many an investment club mem-
ber sported a broad smile, since
business was goOd for the pop
machine! '
CURLING.
Once again„curling..ha&_started
for another winter at RDHS. On
Monday, Tuesday and •Wednesday
nights from 4 - 6 p.m.
72 enthusiastic curlers, including
teachers, the old pros and those
just learning ', take to, the ice
,with-their-everfaith fat-brooms--
their sides. Students from Ripley
Who attend F. E. Madill ih Wing-
ham curl on Monday nightS.
There are six teams per night
and each team •plays five games
and then new teams are chosen.
We would like to thank the' 'Ripley
'ufting Chib for again letting us
have the use of the rink and for
providing a club member for
assistance.
CHRISTMAS DANCE.
Wednesday, December 20 is
the date for our Christmas -Dance,.
The well-known group "Rain" —
will-procritle the music or ancing
from 9-12 p. m. 'Level four are
responsible for decorating the
gym and we• know that they'll
do a number one job! Admission
is $1.75 and $3.00 per,couple. '

TRIP TO GREECE

Marcell and another gentleman
from Walkerton District Secondary
School showed the interested spec-
tators a movie on the Greek. Folk
dances. Last March, the
Classics •students from Wa.D'.-S.S.
'visited Athens and were present at
a banquet, in which a movie was
taken. They plan to revisit,
Greece again and have extended
an invitation to other secondary
schools in Bruce' County. They
also discussed the trip, cost in-
volved and passports. In order to
raise money, handbags made in
Greece can be purchased from
any student planning to undertake
the voyage. The cost is $3:00
and-12.0-0 and th-e-Y- make wonder-
ful Christmas presents.

fewer universities are using' it as
a guideline to students' abilities,
and .since students are now requir
ed to pay the fees themselves, the
number requesting to write these
tests is decreasing.
The eight level five students
spent the entire morning writ-

and vocabulary tests, and ninety
minutes of the afternoon writing
English grammar tests, called
CELAT.
