Member Mutual Insnrance Companies of the Mutual Fire Underwriters' Assaciation of Ont- ario held their annual meeting at the Valhalla' Inn, Kitchener on October 25th and 26th. The President of the Ontario Association., Mr. Emory Knill, opened, the meeting and. welcomed the delegates. He thanked Mr. Lloyd Gower of the Midland- Osier Securities Limited firm for the excellent address given to the delegates on "Investment for Mutual Companies" and for host- ing the "Social Hour" 'following the meeting. The chairman for the. meeting, Mr. Bruce Caughey, explained to the delegates the results of the four agency license _schools_and _the success-of the 84- agents who now are fully licensed. Mr. Caughey asked for co-opera- tion from Mutual Companies in regards to a booth which might be operated by,the Association at the Annual Plowing MatCh. Mr. Caughey 'also told of the success to date of press releases for Mutual Companies. Ken Campbell, First Vice-Pres-' ident of the Association, discussed the new rate manuakto be .used by Mutual Companies and the' proposed changes in methods of rating. . ,The Executive Secretary, Mel McIntyre, spoke on the agreement between the Farm Credit Corpor- ation'and Mutual Companies. Clarence McClenaghan conducted the funeral service at Currie's Funeral Home in Wingham for his uncle, Mr. James Waterworth of Toronto. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. L. , Eedy and Thornton on Sunday were Mr. Harry Nickel of Strat- ford, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Robinson and 4 children, Stratfdrd, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas. Nickel and family and Mrs. Jas. Vernon of Wiarton, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Henderson of Goderich. Mrs. Harold Consram of Wing- ham visited on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Ivers. 7 On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. . Harold Tenken from Camp -Eford-,- - en visited Mr. and Mrs.. Chas., Fowler. Mrs. Jenken is a niece of Mrs. Fowler. On 'Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Fowler were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fowler, and children, at Parkhill. They all visited Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fowler' .at Eiright's Grove. Mr. 'Jim Fow ler is convalescing at his home following a heavy stroke. Jim and Chas. are brothers.
