Hymn 494 was sung and the Lord's Pray- er repeated in unison. Members were reminded of the Glad Tidings subscriptions being due. Mrs. Philip Steer and Mrs. Harry Lavis are the nominat- ing committee. It was decided - to still continue the chapter' of John fOr our Bible Study in the coming year , of Adult Packet cif study. Mrs. Lorne Sparks ably conduct- ed the Bible Study, John 9 with questions and discussions. Hymn 468 was sung and the offertory prayer Was given by Mrs. Herb Buckton. Mrs. Fraser MacKinnon reported $100.00 collected for the Bible Society. The Study Book on Africa was given by Mrs. Allan MacDougall, tell ngWof the prUblerrrs in ia= and •Malawi. Mrs. Douglas Graham, Mrs. Philip Steer and Mrs. Herb Back= ton took part in the Prayer Circle. Hymn '393 was sung and the meeting closed with the' Mizpah Rene 'ction. Panel DiScussion We ate "Alive and Well", was , the decision of four area Pastoral' Charges of the United Church of Canada. Our health "Could be improved", was the conclusion of a panel of four representing these Charges. Eight United ;,Church congrega- tions: Victoria Street, Goderich and Bembiller; Auburn and Donny- brook; Trinity (Ashfield) and St. Helensf-Dungannon and Nile - gathered at Dungannon United Church Sunday evening, Novem- ber 5, at 8.00 p.m. The panel members discussing "The Church at, -Work" were: Don- ald Haines, Auburn, "The Session": Mrs. S. Argyle, Goder- ich , "The U.C. W.": Frank Alton, Ashfield,. "Christian Education": K. K. Dawson, Dungannon, "Stewardship".. Rev R. C. Mc- Clenaghan was moderator. An organ prelude by Miss Karen Rivett, Dungannon organist, as th people of all ages gathered, was appreciated by all. Rev. and Mrs. Leonard Warr conducted a lively sing song of, new Hymnr-and-insirationa-l-songs7-,- Rev. James Hummel 0 . presented a challenging worship on "The Servant Church, --- is Christ's Church". The musical selections, present- ed by the young folk were delight- ful and a good innoculation to keep_the Church healthy. David; and a cornet solo by Colin Cameron accompanied by Barbara Cameron. Pastor Alfred Fry brought greet- ings and made introductions. Two. Explorers, Wayne Dam and Beth Morris gave a skit on "Mis- --sioand-Service"-;I~irs ,Alamo Webiter, assisted by Loraine Charnney and. Doris Naylor taught two songs. Auxiliary The afternoon Auxiliary of the Woinen's Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church •Met Nov^ enter 1st with an attendance of fifteen. Mrs, Noble Johnston pres- ided, and spoke of it being Remembrance month. Following the singing of hymn "What a friend we have in Jesus" , Mrs. John Emerson gave the Bible Study, reading frorn,John, chapter 3, the story of Nicodemus, follow- ed, by prayer by Mrs. Phillip Stew- art. After singing hymn "Pass me not 0 Gentle Saviou0,,Mrs. 'Morgan Henderson gave an inter- esting Glad Tidings review. The offering was taken and Mrs. Johnston gave the offertory, prayer; Mrs. Jas. Little gave an -inspiring_message on "Remem- brance" ,.remember thy Creator, remember the Sabbath 'day to keep it holy. The roll call was answered by naming one of the disciples, thank you notes were read, and Mrs. Morgan Henderson invited the aux- iliary to meet in her home for the December meeting,. Several Hallow- e'en games were played. Six new members were 'put through initiation stunts. They are Anne Colwell, Sandra Jo7Artn_Maelntyre, Lynda Campbell, DorOtrty Clark and Stisan Clark. The ,service for new members will be held at our next Meeting. • . The girls enjoyed a sing-song, spook stories by candlelight and a blindfold ghost 'walk..
