During the summer , Western Ontario residents have relatively few opportunities to see good • live theatrical entertainment. In 1971, the Lambton Youth Theatre provided excellence in li-ve_dpenntheatrehefround performing a play entitled CHE in the area. -This summer ; the-nine partici- pants in The Lambton- Youth Theatre, Adam Giberson, Lloyd ----Gr=aharr—Joanne George Olds, Bert Pullen; Steve Simms , Holly and Tery Stover, • and Dev Sullivan are developing • the dramatid, musical, graphic and literary talents of the group and are once again ready to prov- ide entertainment on a high level for their audience. • • The 'Lambton Youth Theatre's 1972 original dramatic perform- mice in Lucknow_isdesigne_d primarily to entertain a summer audience. 'A showcase, of dram- atic entertainment entitled Hexastylos is being presented in college form which will appeal to any audience. The program includes a scene from the archet- ypal Greek tragedy Prometheus Bound by. Aeschylus; two hilarious scenes from Shakespeare's A Mid- summer-Night's Dream; the celebrated realistic humorous tea party scene from George Bernard S —irs Pygmalion; a one act- theatre-of-the-absurd play entitl- ed. The Hero by Arthur Kopit (the noted author of "Oh Dad, Poor Dad., Momma's Hung You In The Closet and I'm Feelin' So the platonic parable Anthropos: or the Future of Art by e.e.. cummings; and an original free - form open theatre dance-drama improvised by members of the group. The settings, costumes, prop- Hexastylos have been designed and executed by the members of The-Larnbton Youth Theatre. By_ performing outdoors on scaffolds in the three quarter round,: the -ompa-ny-is--challenged ta_psmay___ six dramatic styles (tragedy , comedy, realism, absurd, fantasy and free-form) which will no doubt have something of inter- est for evegRne regardless of age.
