Mrs. Susan Spiesz, age 28,
Wingham lost control of the car
she was driving July 4 when she
attempted to save her son from
falling out of the car. She was
not injured. The mishap occurred
on Water Street in Wingham.' Her
son Randy, age 4, received abra-
sions and amputation of the tip
of the left second finger. A niece.
Patricia Weber , age 17 , 123 Elgin
Crescent , yaterloo, lacerated her
forehead. The accident was

David TenPas, age 11, R. R.
2, Wingham , son of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry TenPas, was riding on a
bicycle July 4 with his cousin John
•Ellen, age 12, a visitor from Hol-
land. They were coming out of
the farm lane onto the road and
were struck by a car driyen by
Allen McFarlan, R. R. 1 Holyrood.
David received fractured left
arm, abrasions and .was admitted
to hospital. John was treated
for abrasions to, back and both
legs and was/released. • The accid
ent was investigated by Wingham
O.P.P. Ricker.
Terry Carter , age 8; Bluevale ,
son, of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Carter,
was admitted to hospital July 7
with lacerations to 'his left hip
when he 'fell off`his biCycle in
Bhievale. ' • • '
John Terler , Toronto, •age 66 ,
fell approximately 20 feet out of
a-tree while at his cottage in
Collingwood. He was admitted
to Wingham hospital with spinal
injuries. •
Warten Cudrnore, 'age 11,
Blyth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Cddmore , 'was admitted to
hospital with multi-abrasions and
contusions, lacerated lip and
scalp caused by a fall off his
bicycle. He was riding 'in front
of the Public School' in Blyth, in .
company with other boys /7 when
the* .&ccident. occurred. Wingham
O.P.P.. Balzer investigated.
Murray Timm, R. R. 2 Blue-
vale , received painful cuts, to his
right hand while changing knives
on.a hay baler, on' his farm.
David kussell Elliott, age .21,.

June 27 with gunshot wounds to the
chest. Wingham O.P.P.-Ricker
and Cpl. Croskill investigated.
Mark;O'Beirns, age 8,
Wroxeter , on of Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel O'Beirns, fell off the back
of a truck which was in motion ,
in Wroxeter. 'He received; head

Samuel Workalan ' lost control of • the car he was driving June 29 ,
1 1/4 miles south of Brussels and
1 mile west and struck a stump in
a ditch. He' received contuSioris
to left hip and shocli. PaSsengefs
Rick Knight, age 15, Sarnia , son
of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Knight,, re-
ceived abrasions to spine; Peter
Gibson , age 16, Brussels, son of
Mr., and Mrs. Gerald Gibson ,. con'
tusiOns and abrasions to spine.
All were given first aid and re7

Balzer and Cpl. Croskill
Brian Evans, age 26, Kitchen-
er, struck a hole in the road July
1 while driving his motorcycle on
County Road 16 ; near Newry „and
was thrown,off his ,machine. He ,
received an injured, left shoulder
and arm, multi-abrasions to left
side of body and was treated and.

week on the farm of Mr. and •
Mrs. Merle. Gunby on the 6th
concession of Ashfield visiting
with Lise Gunby,-12, on the- ,
right , a student at Brookside Pub-
lic School. •
Tlie Gunby family• own, the '
former Bongertman farm, also
known to many as the 'Crozier
place. They came to Ashfield -
from Burlington last August,
The visit was part of the Urban-
Rural Exchange 1972 sponsored by
the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture
and Food. The-program in this
'area has been co-ordinated by
Dianne Fines.
Therels a great deal of under-
standing neededebetween city.and
farm people ,about how the other
lives. The Urban-Rural Exchange
hopes to help young-people
learn about a different way of
life so that wrong ideas can be
correcte• .
12 to 15 year-old students in
large cities apply to the program
through their schools.to visit a
farm for a week. After the farm
visit, a 12 to 15 year-old' in the
farm family may return to the
'city with the urban-visitor if they •
wish. , •
A bus load of 29 young .
people came to elistrict. 'Meg-
an was the only one we are aware
of coming to this immediate area.
The girls_hoped to do a_lot_of
horseback riding, swimming and
roller skating, to mention a, few
plans. The idea is that
young people do. What the host,

Listowel, was on his motorcycle

two miles East of Wingham July
1, lost control of his machine and
went into a ditch and through a
fence. He was admitted to hos-
pital via aMbulance, .unconscious
with ,a skull fracture , deep lacer-
ation to left leg, injuries to pel-
vis and spine. He was treated
and transferred to Hamilton
General. Hospital only fair. In-
vestigated by Wingham
Ricker.
Glenda Johnston ,.age 14,
Blyth, daughter-of-MN 2and-Mr .
Kenneth Johnston, struck her left
hand on a sharp object while
swimming in Donnybrook Park
river. •She received a' lacerated
