Kingsbridge Boy Scout and Wolf Cub
Packs Hold. Father and Son Banquet,
Honour Troop Leader Ken Fitzpatrick
On Thursday, June 22nd, the
First' Khigsbridge Boy Scout and
Wolf Cub Packs 'held their Father",
and Son Banquet in St. Joseph's
Parish Hall, Kingsbridge. Chair-
man Mark Dalton asked Rev. Fath-
er Cassano to say Grace. A Toast
was made to the Queen. A deli-
cious ham and salad supper, serv-
ed by 'the boys' mothers, was en-
joyed by some 65 guests.
The chairman introduced the
Heed Table Guests,' Ken Fitz-
patrick, Boy Scout Troop Leader,
and his wife Nancy, Rev. Father
Cassano; Bill Van Osch, represent , 'ng-Scout-and---Cub—Groureom
mittee; Joe Hickey, Deputy
Grand Knight, 'Knights of .
Columbus, 'Goderich Council, and
the Guest Speaker, Mr. Ron Bush-'
el, District Commissioner of
Boy Scouts. As each guest was

Religion and Life Badges were
presented by.Rev. Father Cassano
and Ken Fitzpatrick to'ugene
Austin, Eric Courtney, Jim Craw-
ford; Mark Frayne, Tom Sinnett
and John VanDiepan.
Mark. Dalton thanked Ken
Fitzpatrick for .the wonderful
work he performed with the boys
as their Troop Leader during the
past 5 years. Peter Vogt present-
ed Ken with a gift of appreciation
A representation of ex-boy scouts
were on hand, to show their high
--esteern4or-Ken-Fitzpatrick.

During the service Mrs., Harvey '
Webster sang two solos, "Amazing
Grace" and "May the good Lord
bless and keep you". Both were
very much enjoyed. Two very
beautiful baskets of flowers were
placed-in---rhe-church_b_piliss
After weeks of planning for
and months of looking forward to ;
the day of the Webster family's
fiftieth picnic; June 18th, 1972,
finally arrived... The day'dawned
so perfectly that the words of a
favourite song "Oh What a Beauti-
ful morning! must ' have been on
the lips of hundreds of members
of Webster descendants.
Approximately 160 members
attended the morning service in
Lycknow United Church; at
which time it was mentioned that
Thomas, Richard and Daniel
Webster had been on the , church
board when it was built in 1884,
also fourteen Webster families .
were connected with Lucknow
church fifty years ago.

a forceful sermon on the title
"Where are we going?" The
baptism of Jennifer Tricia Pym,
daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Terry
Pym of St. Catharines, took
place at/this service. Mrs. Pym
formerly Nana Webster,.
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Webster of Lucknow.

daughter Judith 'Ann ,, to Mr. Wil-
liam Tom 'Cooper , son of Mr:,

During the afternoon, when -
over 5 00 gathered at the .arena ,
a_full-slate of races for children,
and sports, for' all, were under
the direttion of Clayton Alton,
Blake Alton and DOn Cameron.
These events took place in the'

Mrs.Mervyn Lobb of Clinton'
had had a large display of antiques
and historital material on various
'Webster farnilies. This display
contributed much interest and ,we
wish to extend thanks to her for

after the service. They then
scattered to their various homes
to prepare for an afternoon pic-
nic which took place .at the
Lucknow arena'.

Jessie Kirkland had traced, in
photo form, her immediate fam-
ily to the 6th' generation and
created an interest for other
members of the Anderson family
branch to follow up on each of
theirs as a future project. Olive
Blake and "Noma—McDortagh Foy•
ided pictures of other Anderson
families on the, same background.
Three sets of twins belonging to
the Websters was also shown.
Ada "Webster had a display of
pictures, of different members in
all branches. Mr, and Mrs. Ed
Arens of Indianapolis, Indiana •
provided identification stickers
for all who attended which was a
great contribution toward recogniz-
ing friends of years ago, who had
changed beyond recognition,
from young slim girls tobounc-
ing middle aged women, or
young dark haired youth to older
white haired or bald headed men.
---. Although--the-Websters-cla
Harvey 'Webster , the president ,
called on Rev. Nicholls .to pro'-
nounte grace and all joined in
singing grace. A bountiful supper
was 'served smorgasbord style to
the entire crowd. Mrs. Bert Alton
was in charge of this hnge project
and many thanks go out to her
and her fleet of helpers.
After supper. , the president,.
read the names,of members of
the family who had passed away
Since the last gathering. A min-
utes silence was observed in mem-
ory of four relatives, Jerry Irvin,
-Harve-r-Webb-;--Leonard Webster
and Flora Andrew.
Reeve. George Joynt 'of Lucknow
was called on and extended a very
gracious welcome to the Websters
oh behalf of the village of Luck-
now.
Linda , who is employed at Bob
'MacNay's 'Amberley Store, was
putting some articles up on the
wa-11-when-she-act-idently-brought
her hand-down and caught.a fish-
hook, imbedding it in her finger.
'A hurried. trip,was Made to the
doctor's office where the
hook w'as'cut and removed and
some stitching done. Linda is
now none the worse of her "fishing
expedition" ..
to be Irish, a highlight of the
afternoon was an all Webster pipe
band which consisted of Bill Web-
ster and two sons Donald and Ken
of Glencoe, Malcom Web-
ster and son of Kincardine ' also
Watson Webster of Clinton. We
are very grateful to them for their
contribution to the day. There

A phone call on Monday from
Robert McKinley, member of
parliament fOrKuron Riding, -
advised of a visit of the Hon.
Robert Stanfield, leader of the
opposition, to the riding of Huron
on Wednesday, July 6.
Mr. Stanfield will be coming
from Listowel to Goderich and
will tour Dominion Road Mach-
inery from 2.30 to 3.30 p ,rri,
followed by an open reception at
the Harbourlite Inn, Goderich
from 4 to 6 p.m..
Mr: Stanfield will be guest' on -
an open line radiO show on CKNX
Wingharn from 7 to 8 p.m, and
-will tape a TV interview from
8 to.9 p.m. He will proceed on
to -Kincardine ariL.will be in-Bruce
riding the following day.
