Bridal Showers
Held At .Kinlough •

Pretty summer flowers, stream-
ers, wedding bells and coloured
balloons made a lovely setting
'for the bridal shower for Miss
Mary Anne McEwan, which
was held on Saturday evening in
the Anglican Church basement.
Mrs. Glen Haldenby welcomed
everyone and gave a reading "A
washing machine" which was fol-
lowed by a sing song. by Edna and
May Boyle. hit's. Roy. Schneller
gav e. a -read ing_nWhy.do. cou ples. -_-
couple?" Mrs. Ross Irwin con-
ducted a contest. "What a bride
•would like in her kitchen". Mrs.
Jim McEwan fa'oured with a •
medley of well known pieces on
her accordian. A reading "You
can't have a perfect husband" was
-given by Mri. Raynard Ackert.,
Mrs. Fred Friendorf conducted a
"bingo" contest.. Mrs. Glen
Haldenby told how to cook a
husband.
Mrs. Agnes Hodgini read an
address of good wishes, which was
followed by the wedding march
when the bride and her attend-
ants Margaret Bushell, who read
the verses, and Mrs. Douglas
lvIcEwan took their places. Those
'assisting were Janet , Shirley and
Marilyn Bushell./ Several of the
younger cousins carried.the gifts •
to the front. Mary Anne thanked
everyone and extended an invita-
tion to all to come to her home
afterwards to see her trousseau.
"For-she%--a-jolly--good fellow"
was sung and lunch was served.
Assisting with the shower
arrangements were Mrs. Fred
Friendorf, Mrs, Ross Irwin, Mrs.
Michael O'Malley , Mrs. Delbert
Hedley and girls, Janice Fav-
throp and several others,
who helped to serve the lunch.
A bridal shower was held at
the home of Mrs. Eldon Wien-
swiller for Miss Sandra Humphrey.
Wedding bells and streamers
decorated the bridal chair. Con-
tests and games were played dur-
ing the afternoon. Assisting the
bride witl} the gifts were.Miss
McEwan reading the attached
Cathy Hedley and Mrs. Douglas
verses. Sandra thanked Wendy
for having the shower and all

Ladies from here attended the
Bruce South District 75th anniver•
sary of the F.W.I.O. at the
United Church campsite, Silver
Lake on Tuesday evening. A
sumptuous meal, an excellent
program and a happy time of
fellowship was enjoyed by every-
one.
Sympathy' is extended to the
family of the late Mrs. Bert
Moffat of Teeswater, who passed
away on Sunday. William, '
George and Art Haldenby are
cousins.

A meeting of the executive
of Senior Citizens , Lake Huron
Zone 9 , was held in Neustadt'on
Friday..
There were 12 clubs represent-
ed with a good attendance. Mr.
Pat McGarrity of Hanover was
chairman for the meeting.
Several topics were discussed
