whose wedding clay will be July

Mrs. Bert Nicholson conducted
a romance contest. Miss May
Boyle read an address of good
wishes to the bride and Barbara ,
Heather and Jennifer Scott carried
in the gifts. Assisting Carol was
her sister Marilyn and Mrs. Jack
Scott 'reading the attached verses.

delighted to:have the happy get-
to-gether. Assisting with arrang-
ing the gifts were Bonnie and
Heather 'Boyle. Kerry 'Boyle irnade
a garland froth the bows and Carol
wore it for the remainder of the
afternoon. Delicious refresh-
ments were served. The rooms
were decorated with pink and
white wedding bells with streamers
and coloured balloons.

NEW MEMBER
We would like to welcome Don-
na Taylor,as the final member of
the Recreation Planning and Devel-
opment Committee. Donna ,
along with Cathy. Hogan and
Brenda Bushell, will begin working
on June 15th. Donna is an honours/
graduate of Fanshawe College:with
a diploma in Recreation, the is
experienced as a playground'
supervisor in the Blenheim area
and is also well qualified in lnus-
ic and drama.' Lucknow is fortun-
ate too have a person of her calibre
to assist during the summer
months.
CHOIR
The first practice of the Com-
munity Choir was held on Thurs-
day ; June 8, at the United-
Church. I Church. A good beginning was
'made with about 30 interested
ipersons of all ages turning out tp
display their talents. Remember
that everyone is welcome , talent,
is no barrier:. We'd like to hear
a few more male Voices. Practice

bombed the Giants by a 7-0 count.
That leaves' the Expos with a one

back of the league leading Pirates
who defeated the Mets by a 13-3

The Recreation Planning and,

-Saturday June 10 , turned out
to be a rathei chilly day for the-
scheduled Girl Guide hike. How-
ever the hardy girls ; who turned
up, proved they were ready for
anything the elements put forth.
They proceeded to the Greer
farm, where they tested their
skills in fire lighting and cook-
ing over an open fire. Susan
Thompson and Jill Murray laid
trails for the other girls to 'follow
as part of their outdoor exper-
iences.
All had a good time and fortun-
ately the morning passed without
any mishaps:
We would like to extend our
thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Greer for
Girl Guide Hike

sport. Besides the boxfrig, a
general "get in shape" program
will be run. This will include
jogging, weight training, and

The members agreed that Monday

ROLLER SKATING
Roller skating begins on Friday,
June 16th. A split Program will
be held on Wednesday add Friday
nights. From 7.00 p. m. to 8.45/
will be for those .15 years of age
and under' and skating for anyone
16 and over will begin at 9.15 and
end—at-11. 00-p-.

concerned.' -The age restrictions
area guideline only, so that the
younger children will not run the

larger Skaters. It also allows us to
give more.freedom to the older
