occasion of their 45th wedding

Word has been received here by
relatives of the passing of George
Pocock on Saturday night at
Lambeth from a heart attack. Mr.
and Mrs. George Pocock attended
the funeral of her brother, the
late Alex Leaver, last week. Mrs.
Pocock was the former Lila Leav-

and church at 11.15 a.m. at
Chalmer's Presbyterian Church.

The May meeting of the Dun-
gannon Women's Institute was
held at Mrs., George ErringtoWs„
Thursday evening, May 25. The
president, Mrs. W. Rutledge,
opened the meeting with the
opening ode and the Mary Stew-
art Ccalect.,
Two visitors and five Children
were present. Eighteen member$
answered the roll call, "Name
something you 'buy 'that your
Grandmother made herself'.
Bread, butter sodp,'weaving,
candles and underwear were some
-of-the answers.
Delegates to the District An-
nual in Wingham are Mrs. W.
Rutledge, Mrs. H. Girvin, (Mrs.
G. McNee) and Mrs. F. Young.
After the business period, Mrs..
W. Brown,, convener of Family
and Consumer Affairs was in
charge Of.the program. Every-
one was delighted with several
musical numbers sung by Jennifer,
Paul and Shawn Drennan, child-
ren of Mr, and Mrs. Jim Drendan,
The boys played their accomp-
animent on their guitars,
The motto, "No' one can cheat
you out of success but yourself' ,
was presented by Mrs. Harvey
Alton. Summing up, Mrs. Alton
said, Those , who have achieved
success, have left the world bet-
ter than they found ft. .

J. Wilson, president of Lucknow
W.I. and-delegate-to Officers'
Conference held recently in
Guelph. Mrs. Wilson gave a very
informative repOrt on the
conference which everyone enjoy-
ed. She said the delegate is the
one who benefits most from a
conference by the information and
