The Missionary Fathers of St.
Paul were erected canonically oh
November 21, 1921 by HiS Grade
Dorn.Maurus Caruana 0.S.13. ,
as religious Society for roreign
Missions. The Society has spread
into Dioceses with 13 Houses and
Parishes; namely Melbourne,
'Sydney and Perth, Australia; in
Eneryville, Canada; in Arequipa
and Chiquibarnba Peru 'and in
Malta and Gozo.
Another Parish is due to be
opened in the very near future in
Sae Paulo, Brazil, SOuth America
Father taSsano has been assigned
to this new mission. He IS due to
leave Canada for his new asSign-
Merit by the end of July.
The Resurrectionist Fathers
(C.R.) are well known in this
area and now the pastoral dare
of this Parish has.been entrusted
to-them. Father Edward Denting-
er C.R. will be the Pastor effec-
tive from July 1st. Father Dent-
Inger will come from St. Mary's,
Kitchener.'

The second meeting of the
olyrood Dirt Diggers , the gard-
'club "Home Beautification" ,
as held'at Mrs. Rhody's On Thurs•
ay, May 11 after school. • •
The meeting opened with the
ledge and the minutes of the last
meeting were then read. The roll
call was answered by 7 Of 'our• 8 -
niernbers. We decided our name
would be the "Holyrood•Dirt
7 • Diggers

design the book covers. Everyone
else is to think of a skit for
Achievement Day.

We must plant our gardens as

Day week end.
Mrs'. Gilbert Hamilton was able
to return home .from Victoria-Hos-
pital, London the first of last
week.

Miss Carrick was a daughter'of

on February 4, 1880. In 1918 she:
moVed with her parents to Luck-
now,
.She Spent some ti.rne with her
sisters in Virginia , Minnesota but
called Lticknow her hbrne through
most of the intervening years:
Miss Carrick was a very loyal
and faithful member of the Luck-
how Presbyterian Church '4nd the
Wornen's Missionary Society.
Although her eyesight was fail-
ing-du-ring—her latter yea-r-s-,--she
bore this afflictiOn with great fOrt-
itude and rarely complained. Her
unselfish and Cheerful attitude to7
wards life was an inspiration to
her family and friends.
She is survived by one brother
Grant Carrick, aged 89, residing
in Portland, Oregon. She was pre•
deceased by four sisters Mrs. Char
les (Jane) Shannon, Mrs. G. H.
(Belle) Douglas, Mrs. E. G. (Min-
nie) Johnson and Mrs: Alex (Mina)
Boyd.
The funeral service was held at
MacKenzie MeMorial Chapel,
Lucknow on Monday, 'May 1st.
Rev. Glenn Noble was minister.
Interment was in Gre,enhiill Cemet
cry.
Pallbearers were Gordsm Fisher,'
Virden Nlowbray , Cameron Mac-
DOnalcl , Joe MacMillan, Robert
Reid, Jim ,Tlenderson.

Carrick of LucknoW occurred on
Thursday , April 27th. She had
observed, her 92hd birthday on
February 4th. She had been in
failing health for the pasr•year,
during which time she made her
home with Mrs William -Macki- New South Wales :Australia , as
well as Chaplain tO the Maltese
ommunity in the'Western Sub-
urbs of Sydney , Australia.
1968, he was appointed aSsistant
pastor to the Parish of Ashfield,
Ontario,.Canada.
In November 1960, he was • ,
appointed Pa"stor of this PariSh of
Ashfield. Without doubt the
young people in this Parish will
remember Father oaSsano for
many years:to come for hii great
interest and suppprt in their activ-
ities.
