The roll call was answered by 7 Of 'our• 8 - niernbers. We decided our name would be the "Holyrood•Dirt 7 • Diggers WINGHAM ONTARIO Bev °Hedley , Susan Barr and Wilma Duiker wcre elected to design the book covers. Everyone else is to think of a skit for Achievement Day. Mrs. Hedly and Mrs .. Rhody • then discussed why we plant a garden, preparing the soi: and landscaping. We must plant our gardens as Soon as possiblebefore the next meeting, to be held sometime in June. Other guests included Mrs. Joe Hackett • of Ripley-Mr: and-Mrs`:-k- Hackett and boys, Mr. and Mrs.. Robert Norman and family, all of Kincardine. Mr. .and Mrs. Ian MacKenzie and Miss. Connie MacKenzie ,of Toronto:were home for Mother's Day week end. Mrs'. Gilbert Hamilton was able to return home .from Victoria-Hos- pital, London the first of last week. Betty Colwell, Pat Sparks and Rod. MacKenzie are all home from Western University. Pat Sparks spent the week end with friends-in Glyn.Pinkney of with was week end guest with his uncle and aunt IN/Ir. and Mrs. Ted CollYer. tyre', Lucknow, where she was lovingly cared kir. Miss Carrick was a daughter'of lar*Zarrick—a was bCrn in Ashfield Township on February 4, 1880. In 1918 she: moVed with her parents to Luck- now, .She Spent some ti.rne with her sisters in Virginia , Minnesota but called Lticknow her hbrne through most of the intervening years: Miss Carrick was a very loyal and faithful member of the Luck- how Presbyterian Church '4nd the Wornen's Missionary Society. Although her eyesight was fail- ing-du-ring—her latter yea-r-s-,--she bore this afflictiOn with great fOrt- itude and rarely complained. Her unselfish and Cheerful attitude to7 wards life was an inspiration to her family and friends. She is survived by one brother Grant Carrick, aged 89, residing in Portland, Oregon. She was pre• deceased by four sisters Mrs. Char les (Jane) Shannon, Mrs. G. H. (Belle) Douglas, Mrs. E. G. (Min- nie) Johnson and Mrs: Alex (Mina) Boyd. The funeral service was held at MacKenzie MeMorial Chapel, Lucknow on Monday, 'May 1st. Rev. Glenn Noble was minister. Interment was in Gre,enhiill Cemet cry. She had observed, her 92hd birthday on February 4th. She had been in failing health for the pasr•year, during which time she made her home with Mrs William -Macki- New South Wales :Australia , as well as Chaplain tO the Maltese ommunity in the'Western Sub- urbs of Sydney , Australia. 1968, he was appointed aSsistant pastor to the Parish of Ashfield, Ontario,.Canada.
