THAT eight white wild swans
have been .sightedin the past
two weeks on the 4th of Ashfield
between the farms of Don Mac-
Kenzie and Tony Miltenburg,
near Highway 21. Clarence
Greer-of Lucknow reported sight-
ing the flock on Sunday and in
talking to Tony Miltenburg,
learned that they had been there
about ten days at that time.

of Lucknow returned home on
Thursday of last week from San
• Francisco, ,where they had spent
the past month withtheir two
daughters Mrs. Robert (Kathleen)

celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary
THAT a call on Monday from Bob
McKinley, member of parlia•-
ment for Huron Riding, advised
us of the $9360 grant under the
Opportunities For Youth Program
which was approved for a recrea
tion program in Lucknow and
district. The Sentinel carried
a story on this last week having
received word from the local
people involved in the program.
'Mina Graham
Takes IIl On
94th Birthday
• The Sentinel had a call Tues-
day from John Street df Chilli-
cothe, Ohio, a family friend of
.Mina Graham of Chillicothe who
is formerly of the Lucknow corn-
munity.
Miss'Graham, or Mina as she is
know to most eVeryone ., suffered
a slight stroke on Tuesday of last
week, May 2, the day of her 94th
birthday.
She is a patient in Room 237,
Chillicothe Hospital, Chillicothe,
Ohio. Mr. Street reports that she
is improving.
Miss Graham had lunch with
some friends at the country club
and had planned' to attend a gath-
ering of the Altrusa Club' in the
afternoon, which was to be in the
form of a birthday party for her,
but she took ill and was unable to
attend.
A Lucknow native, Miss Gra-:
ham is still -w-e4L-known here
despite the fact that .she has been
in Chillicothe since 'about 1913.
She operated a hat shop there un-
til retiring from business a few'
years ago.

Twenty-live senior pupils,
three teachers and chaperones. from
St. 'Joseph's SchOol, Kingsbridge ,
leave Monday, May 29th for a
student trip to Victoriaville , Que-
bec , returning home on Friday,
June 2nd.
Transportation will be by means
of a bus, therefore, they will have
a bus at their disposal for the
week there. The students will stay
in homes of the students in Victor-
iaville. •
Notification was received from
Murray Gaunt, M.P. , that as
their trip is 'Inter-Provincial, they
are entitled to a grant of $375.00
through the .Opportunity for Youth
Program. Also to. help cover ex-
penses, a draw will be made on
Wednesday, May 11th at the Pub-
lic Speaking Program to be held
in the school. Anyone wishing
to have tickets may contact one
of these students or a resident of
this area. The prizes are - 1st ,
