We discussed with our leaders: Why we should have a garden; where to plant a garden; Why do we plant flowers and where we should plant flowers. Our next meeting will be held on May 5th at the Lucknow Public School. Achievement Day. Kn iffy Knits Whitechurch Knifty Knit 4-H Club held their seventh meeting on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the home of Miss. Ruth Elliott. The president Janene Purdon opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge repeated in unison by the six members present. The minutes were read by the secretary Janet Adams, and Sign- ed by the president. m= I meeting Saturday ,' May 6 at•the home of assistant leader Mrs: Wal- lace Conn.' The Members decided to try making a Placket on their own using the instructions in the pam- phlet. All worked on their book covers and.planned the exhibit for Achievement Day. .Happy Handicrafters The fifth meeting, of the St. Helen's Happy•Handicrafter•s was held Saturday, April at 7.00 o'clock at the St. Helen's Hall. The'meeting opened with the Pledge. The roll call for this meeting was to compare the cost of your garment with a similar 'ready-made one. The next meet- ing will be Saturday, Atril 15, at 7.00 o'clock. The treasurers report was given. Like last week, the demonstra- tion and discussion were joined. 4firgs .tinderstitching , casings for elastic and trimmings for sleepwear were discussed and shown to the girls by the leaders. Little Robbie Sutton celebrated his 5th birthday on Monday. Mrs. 'MacPherson dem- onstrated how to do 'the sewing , while the members and leaders discussed them.
