The March 30th meeting of Dungannon Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. Clar- ence McClenaghan with 17 mem- bers and 2 small guests present. A dessert luncheon was enjoyed at 2 p.m. and was prepared by Mrs. Wm. Stewart ; Mrs. Wilbur • Brown and Mrs. Ivan Rivett. Mrs. Harvey Alton, 1st Vice .President- conducted the .meeting , on Current Events and 'Resolutions, It was nice to see our President Mrs. Wilmer Rut- ledge well enough to attend the meeting. 'Mrs. Cecil Blake gave the treasurer's report and correspond- ence. St. Helens are holding a meeting for the executives of West Huron on April 10th to plan . the program for the District Annual. Auburn's 50th W.I. Anniversary will be held on May 2nd. London's Western Fair will ' hold a W.I. exhibit in September to which all W.I.'s are, asked to contribute. ° • Mrs.' Clarence McClenaghan reported the Dungannon gave two •lilies, and Jour lovely-scarves-as Easter gifts and. CHEMISTRY 13 Mary Mac9arles, Bryan Elliott Courtney and Allan Ma karall Level V Chemistry stu ents, wrote a Chem 13 exams sored by the University of Wat loo. Mr..Malhotra supervised test. Students -from across Ca ada wrote the test and their re sults will be compared. by the U. of W. ,and results repotted the candidates. INVESTMENT CLUB On April 4 , the Investment Club gathered to ,view, a ten-min- ute film entitled 'What Makes Us Tick". Using the New York Stock Exchange as, an example, the film showed its viewers how a company commences operation: by procuring money, investing in stocks and using the money raisedirom that sourc_e_buying more equipment kir the business. In the same meeting, members decided to se-i1-theit-stoc-k-Abit-ibi Last fall twelve shares were pup- chased,at $5.63 each and by the end of February , they were 'up to about :9. •Abiribi then started a downward trend, the twelve shares Were said at $ 7.,38 a share on April 5 and several days later , each share again racketed up- wards to about 3:1,'2 ---- the trials, and tribulations of dealing with the stock market! 13.
