Rev. Strapp Dies.
Rev. Howard W. Strapp'of Port
Credit died on Wednesday of last
week. The funeral waS held in
Port Credit on Friday.
Rev. Strapp was a. former min-
ister of Lucknow United Church.
He retired while here and, moved
to London. He later-acoepted a
position as. assistant minister at
a Port Credit Church, which
duties he• carried out while health
permitted.

Finch Court; Chatham passed
away at the Pwblic General Hospit-
al, Chatham on Saturday , March
25th. •

from Montreal Presbyterian Col-
lege. He served in Mission Fields

a good cross section of the area
which watild .be served, • The,
meeting saw representatives. from •
area recreation committees, mun-
icipal councils, service clubs and
organizations, and interested par-
ents.

opening remarks.,- Mr. Hiinter
clearly indicated that he was not
there to sell a p.00l, but he did
,feel that a swimming ,pool would
be a .great boost for the 'comrnun-•
ity if it proved to be financially
feasible. • . •
He indicated 'some of the detail
about the early 'investigation of ,
pools which has appeared in The•
Sentit dm -otheroccasions: .
He said that the early investiga -
UM'S indicated that a vinyl liner
pooleould be•Installed for a total
investment of about. $25 ,.000. and
that this pool had received gener-
al, approval from most people con-
cerned with_the._investigation.., •
However, it came to a standstill
whenthe villatge engineer'woUld
not-ap-pro-ve •thic_pool.
Mr. Hunter...stated that he had
talked to the..engineer, after his .
recOmmendation•to coun-
cil , and ;that he had stated that
the reason he would not recom=
mend it is,because of the danger
of vandalism occurring, with such
a _pool.. It Was indicated .
that the vinyl could be 'cut by :.
vandals interested:in doing, such a

Mr. Hunter said that there .are
