Since that time l have been
glad to•see an interest in the prob•
lem by the Education Editor of
one of our best known•daily news-
papers. This
ewspapers....This Editor has informed
me that in the year 1960-61 the
Ontario Department of Education
• spent $226,510,58$.. Just a . few
years later for the year 1967-68 ,
the same department spent
$695,729,067 -- quite a hikt
insuch•a short period of time.
Although I feel stye that there
• .are many dedicated teachers to
- whom-the:following criticism
does not apply, considering this
tremendous' spending of the
taarpayer`s-motrerrfeel very dis
.appointed that the teachers and'
professors in thehigh schools and.
• universities of Ontario are not
doing a much 'better' job• of teach
ing world history.
