'OULD YOU FAVOUR A REUNION?
g g, going , ay ten
y Boysplannedvit-
ears; An 01d' Reunion is for this .summer with in.
The village • of Teeswater has.. a good thingever
ations'•presently being sent out to. former, residents of the community:
;The last Teeswater reunion was held in. 1959 and the com
munity•is keeping pace with their "oncein ten" system set up some
time ago. The Teeswater : idea, is an excellent one and that community
should be complimented for following through on this program which
takes a great deal of.work by many'people.
We can still recall'•the excitement and enthusiasm of the village,
of Lucknow during, the Centennial celebration here. hi 1958. R. was a
success' in every way, particularly for the many hundreds and hun-,
dreds of former residents of this community whq "flocked". home",
*from all parts of the' continent: An event of this tyje takes a terrific
amount . of organizing by residents .. who sometunes' 'find ' their
g g .
enjoyment of the event lessened by' the amount of work ,they have
to ,do
We recall many, many •,former
residents, , in writing to this,
newspaper to express the enjoyment that they experienced, comment
that they hoped another ;reunion could be held in the not' too distant
future. Time rolls around. and we are now eleven years .older; A new.
crap of oldtimers' has been created and many others have passed on.
But the basic pull home to the' Sepoy . Town still exists as strongly.
as ever. .A reunion doesn't have to be an entertainment filled weekend
with areat deal of expense involved.; Just 'give the former residents
g
a warm place, to sit' in the' evening, a cool place to.. stand dicing : the
day,: a ' definite date; definite weekend-aad--they'd' be •-here-•-as-
'strongly as.: ever and the whole' community would be the better for it.,.
