The , good neighbour relations, is
still quite evident in :our rural comp
Inunities. Last -Tuesday morning
the farm.home of Mr. and Mrs.,
Glenn. Haldenby (formerly Erlma,
,Jean Pefcy) and their three children
Leeanne'5; Glenn 4, .Eric 3 of
Concession 6 , . Greenock Township
was completely=fiestroyed by fire,,
leaving -them homeless and "only
with a small part of. furnishings and
clothing, saved with.. the help of
neighbours. who rushed to their assis
tance: The house. was beyond sav-
ing when the Walkerton Fire'Depar-
tmeut 'arrived., • '.

Iri a few hours following the fire.,
several groups in other communit-
ies set up'frames and quilts were
quilted for the unfortunate family;
ln'the in mediate area' the women
had: the phones, busy arranging a
shower which was held inKin .arf,
Church on. Wednesday evening with
the ladies, of the communty.and
relativesand friends frorn other
places bringing a- wonderful coll-
ection of bedding, clothing, kitch-
en linen and ntensils,rcanned goods
as well as other food and;. vegetabl-
es and cash donations;

The,girls came to ,Australia in

returning from the

Grafton Agricultural Research
Station as guests of the manager ,
