Allan MacLean; formerly of Loch •
alsh and now.in the real estate
' business in Collingwood , has come
up. with the most helpful .inforrnat-
ion to date.. In last week's' paper
we 'established that Rob Roy existed
west of Collingwood in Grey Couti
ty and also between Carlow and
•r Dunlop in the Goderich, area.
Our, original article asked if any=•
one knew of Rob Roy or Sandy , '
Fletcher. Allan made enquiries at
the Rob . Roy settlement near Coll
ingwood and old-timers there re-
call a' Sandy Fletcher -of years ago
and apparently several descendants
st ill reside in the area.. "
This infarrtaation will be passed
on to Mrs.'Sally Johnstone of.Det
rv;it who made the enquiry.
Allan Manto of Lucknow also ad-
vised us of the. Rob Roy in that area
Hugh McWhinney of Dungannon.
• recalls the Rob Roy name on the
Carlow -Dunlop road. Hugh says
there are two stories as to how it
got,,its name. One is that the own.
et held that name tag. The other
is that there was a toll road in that
general area and'travellers took"
another Cutoff past the store to
"rob Roy". Roy apparently operat-
ed the toll road.
Mr, and Mrs, George Thompson
of Whitechurch used. to live about
five miles from the Collingwood
area Rob Roy. and Mr. Thompson •

Eletchers in the area so it appears
