William "Bill". McCreath, well
known furniture dealer and under-
taker of'Ripley, is the new clerk
of the village of;Ripley.
Bill was sworn into the new Off-
ice at the regular meeting of
Ripley council last week. He succ
.•eeds'Walter Needham who retired
for health reasons.
,Bill has been .in the furniture
business in Ripley for the past 20,
.years. In the -early years he was
associated with Neil McLennan
as an employee and a partner,
and about 10 years ago acquired
complete interest in the business.
Bill is a licensed embalmer and
through these years he has assisted
Neil McLennan with his funeral
home service in Ripley.
It is the intention of the new
clerk to continue his ,furniture
business and his association with
the funeral home in Ripley.

of last`week: at the Wingham Dist-
rict High School with the con-
sultative committees of Huron
and Bruce Counties.
••A :by-law was drafted which
will be presented to county conn
cils at their June session calling
for the dissolution of the Wingham
District High School Area as it
exists today, and the forming of
a new area which will include,
the Lucknow District High School
Area as well as those previously
in the'Wingham area:
If this is passed by county coun-
cils, it will become effective
the first of next year.
