Arthur of London; Mrs. Albert.

surprise, when my daughter handed
me, tate Lucknow Sentinel to read
David Stroud's letter,. He. doesn't
say.who his grandfather wad, but:
I think he must be my father.
Mike Stroud's youngest 'brother,
James. He lived at Goveneur ,
Sisk, Some of his family are
still. there. David has a stacn'
the boys around here,` They have.
to be 12 years old before they ,
'can join 4H clubs here.
I am sending you the history I
have gathered. on ;our family,, the
Strouds. I would he very glad to
get any information I can get I
have been too latein starting.

STROUD HISTORY
Michael Stroud and Elizabeth
Alton came from Dublin, Ireland
about the year 1832. They kept a
lodging or boarding house in Luck -
now. It was a long white house
and used to be 'jammed full with
people travelling from one place
to the next. Michael and Eliza-
beth Stroud were known for their
fine hospitality.
• They had 'six' children, Ellen,.
Annie, Barbara. Jim, Dave and,'
Michael. They lived to be 77 and
76, 1889 and 1887. They are .
buried in Tiverton -Cemetery.
EUen.was three years old when
her parents came to Canada. She
married Wm. Conquergood. They
lived on the tenth of •Kincardine
Township for 40 years. Then they
moved to Western Canada. They
had seven of a family. They had •
two sets of twins.:. Eliza Ann marr-
ied Jim Shane; • Jessie married -Rob
Scott; Ella married Richard '
Lochard Arthur andTom, and..
George' and Bill were the. twins;:
Margaret Florence married. Wm.
Shewfelt. Her son, Bert owns the
Red and White store in Kincardine..

Mrs. Norman Bowes in Palmerston.

Barbara married Frank DOre. They
I lived in. Michigan. Jim znarried

County. • John has completed 2nd
year at O.A.C. and has been
very active its 4-H club work.

4-H :Leadership• Week and also
represented Ontario on the Inter-
• Arovintaal4=H Exchange. John
will be visiting the Club Leaders•
first of all then the 4-H mem-
bers'as the summer progresses.
