The. export trae during the week
was ,uiet owing to the (varsity of
butchers' cattle, 600 sheep and
lambs, 100 calves and 50 fat hogs
offered at the East End abattoir.
Prices of cattle wore lower all
rout'. A, number were taken
from the market unsold. Cattle
shippers bought a few steers at
4ic pPer pound but few butchers'
cattle were ,sold at more than 4c
and not many at over 34c per
pound. Sheep and lambs in good
demand, shippers taking the lar-
ger sheep at about 4c, butchers
paying fl on $3 tol$4.75 for ethers
Two extraordinarily large wethers
weighing over 500 pounds brought
about $30 for export. Lambs
from $8 to $3 50, a few at $4.
No changes in tho hog market.

TORONTO LIVE STOOK MARKET.
There wore forty-five loads .of
stock on the local n1arkoi, Wednes-
day morning, including two from
yesterday. There were .a good
1.many. export. cattle •among them..
Last week's receipts were 2,093
cattle; 2,711 sheep and lambs and.
716 hogs. There was practically
no change in values of butchers
cattle from Friday's decline. The
feeling continues weak on account
of the heavy offerings of inferior
cattle. There were bntfow choice
on tho market. Thorn was a fair
demand for good cattle on a
basis of 32c per lb. for best
loads and 4c for picked lots, while
inferior sold as low as 2c. Trade
on the whole dragged. Export
cattle about steady with a weaker
tendency. .Demand was not so
active as last week. Space still
continnes very scarce. Most of
the transactions" were on a basis of
$5 per cwt. All the offerings were
not sold, several loads going
through. Rather too many lambs
Most of them were sold; quality
'only fair. Sales wore mostly at
$3.25 to $ .35 per head, with a
few extra as $4.
