Wesley church, Clinton, preached to
large and greatly pleased congrega-
tions morning and ,evening. The
church choir rendered epeeially pre-

well.
The Presbyterian people very kindly
withdrew their services On. Sunday
and Rev. Mr. Malcolm -of Galt, the
supply for that .da3r, took part in the
services in the Methodeet church. Mr.
Malcolm made the remark that he
hoped the time was not far distant
when the churches would be united,
in fact, as there was actually nothing
to keep them apart.
On Monday evening the annual fowl
supper was given ,in the Temperance
hall.The little snap of winter
came just in, time to dry up the mud
and to save what :Mtle Sleighing was
left and large numbers of people gath-
ered to the Varna supper, because' ev-
erybody is aware 'that a good time, is
in. store for those who take in this
annualdevent. It really is not necessary
4.0 say a word about the supper.
Those who were there know how good
if, was, and there is no use harrowing
up the feeIngs of the people who miss-
ed it, It was good, and the unusual
nip of frost served to whet appetites,
so that it was a hungry and apprecia-
tive crowd which the hospitable lad -
lea of Varna and the'r willing helpers
had .to serve. After the supper had -
been disposed of all repaired to the
town hall, that is, all that it would
hold, the rest wont to the church and
a first class program was given. The
instrumental music Was furnished by
the Maple Leaf Orchestra of Seaforth,
whose contributions were much app•re-
dated. Mrs, 51eGuire, also of • Seae
forth, rendered several solos . which
were well received. Miss Shipley of
Clinton gave several readings' in her
usual pleasing style, and Roe 'Mr.
Laws of 13ayileld and his gifted family
delighted the audience by rendering
several ouartettes. Rev. Mr. Laws and
Mr, R. Laws also proved very popular
goloists, Brief addresses wore deliv-
ered by Rev. Mr. Miller of Auburn,

of Bayfield... Those taking part in the,
