On Friday evening last the concert,
which had been postponed from the
week before on account ot the very
unfavorable weather, was given in
the Me thodist church, and was
in every way a success.. The
program was furnished by the
church, Clinton, and hiss dart,
mixed quartette of - Ontario street
elocutionist, Mensal'. • The quartette
consistkel of Mrs. Gibbings and Mrs.
Ross hnd`Messrs. Downs.and Marland,
and they demonstrated beyond any
question that they can furnish the
mesieal -part of a good sized. concert
• withoutthe -least .difficulty, Their
contributions consisted of quartettes,
duets and solos, each 'well executed
and most pleasing. Mrs. Treleaven
acconipanicd the singers in her usual
sympathetic and fcnished manner.
T,he entertainer, Miss hart of Ilene
salt, .a'so gave much pleasure ,by her
fine rendering cf several well selected
'readings. 1'he concert was given un-
der the auspice's of the Ladies' Aid,
who were very well pleased with the

As the wedding march was being
played by Miss Entine Burnett, cousin
of the gn.rom, the bridal party took
their places before a bank- of flowers
and ferns and the nuptial knot was
tied. by the Rev. 7. Wt+sley Cosens,
pastor of Ont. St. church, Clinton.
The bride looked charming in a pret-
ty gown of Crepe de Chine trimmed
with eatin; her only ornament being
a locket set with pearls, the ;;ift of
the groom. 'She carric'd'a sheaf of
bridal roses.
After the ceremony all repaired to
the dining room where a sumptaus re -
vast awaited them.
The numerous and costly gifts testi-
fy to the high esteem in which the
young couple are held. •
The bride's going away gown was a.
suit of blue broadcloth and with it.
she wore a large black. hat faced
with old gold. satin.
The yotuig couple will take up house

It is our sad. duty this week to re-
port the death of another of the few
rttntainiug pioneers of this township
in the ver.snn of ,Ir. William
Sharp of the Babylon Line. The de-
ceased has been afflicted with dropsy
for some time but was feeling some-
what better of late. however, on
Saturday evening last after partaking
of a hearty meal lie suddenly fell andov-
er
c spired.
Born' in Ireland in 1832, he came
to this country while but a youth
and by industry and honest efforts
hewed for himself from the unbroken
forest the comfortable home which he'
now leaves.

Wood hospital, St. 'Moines, on Nov. 1
the 14th, at the age of 24 years and ,
2 mcnths, Minnie E. I'enhale, fourth
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard i
I'enhale, of the Bronson Line, Stan- I
ley.
The deceased was born on the
Sauble Line, Stanley, an Aug, l9th,
1886. The family later moving to
their prestnt home on the Benson
.Linc,, she received her earlier I'ublie
School education in S. 5. No. 4,
Stanley, and later attended el, 5. No.
3, l'uckersmitlt. Passing the Public
Sch;.o1 leaving examination she enter-
ed the Seafortll Collegiate institute
in 1902 and two years later *tamed
her seeend i'laee c• rtifieate.. • After-
wards eiiing to ('lintan i\C' (lel School
she duly qualified. as' a teacher.

ed a. school in Bosanquet• town-
