Stevenson, returned on Monday to
London to again take up his duties
as book-keeper in the office of the
Sherlock-Manhing Company, IIe
has already almost fully recovered
from the atteck of appendicitis for
which he underwent an operation in
St. Joseph's hospital,

The ordination • and induction ser-
vices in connection with the coming of
Rev. Mr. Pearce to Knorr church Lon-
desboro, and Burns church, Iluliett,
was held ;in the latter edifice on Wed-
nesday of last •week. A verylarge
audience was present, taxing the ae-
cotnniodaiion of the building. Rev.. Dr.
Stewart of Clinton presided. Addres-
ses were delivered by Rev. Mr.
Sharpe, Exeter ; Rev. Mr. Mann,
Auburn, and Rev. Mr. Sawers; Bruce -
field. After •lthe service a social hour
was held when a very dainty tea
was served by, the ladies of Burns
church, and numerous expressions of
good wishes were tendered Mr. Pearce
upon • beginning his pastorate here,
The appreciation of both congrega-
tions was expressed toward Rev. Mr.
Sn1a11, who has acted very effcientiy
'as moderator (luring the vacancy since
Mr. Leckie's resignation last June.
