Clan Gregor square was l he scene of
another fierce conflict on. Tuesday,
Iy,5th , when
Ju
the Zurich "Juniors"
defeated the Bayfield "White Sox'
by the unhealthy score of 16 to'6, In
saying "Zurich Juniors" the writer
makes an awful mistake, for the main
part of the team, namely the pitcher
and catcher, were seniors. This tells
the story of the whole game. Our
kids fought bravely, but what can an
ant do against an elephant? -- In other
words the 'Zurich battery simply
walked all over the whole Bayfield
team. The score totalled 16- 6 but
when you consider the flirt that the
two Zurich seniors brought in ten
runs between them it makes it look a
little better. Dr Smith did good um-
piring for a while but a giny from the
Dutch town thought he knew more
about the game and so took charge.
He was worse than the Dr and
should have got the G, B. The•
battery for Bayfield was Wilbur
Irwin and Willard Sturgeon 'that' of
Zurich, was Lee Kaufman - and Roy
Faust. We wish our boys every suc-
cess in the return match.
