LUCKY To ESCAPE:
The worst Mix-up that has taken
place on the Grand Trunk " in this line
'mediate dietriet for goers. was that of
Thursday a. m. la$t when a snow=
plow and three engines were piled in
a• heap at the '`Diamond" or "e/,"
ce,11 itewhat, you will.
Early that a. m. oneaf the Wheels
of• the locomotive on a train from
Winghem broke at the crossing and
an auxiliary from London was sent
• up to repair the: damage. The wheel
was repaired and the track eleared so
far as the delayed train was eoneern-
ed. The auxiliarywas supposed to be
clear of the track, but had backed up
again for some purpose and several
of the cars were across the 41C"
when a snce. w -plow pushed by three
engines went down •the track at great
speed,. The engineers Could not eee
the pffetruction andinto it they Went.
The snow -plow left the track and
went over the banks with the ' :three
eeginee on top of it was certainly
a complete mix-up whieh an einnhatey
