When I was a kid my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. I remember one night in particular when she made breakfast after a long hard day at work. On that evening so long ago my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burnt biscuits in front of my Dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone had noticed, yet all my Dad did was reach for his biscuits, smiled at my Mom and asked her how her day was at school. I don't remember what we told him that night but I do remember watching him smear butter and jam on the biscuit and he ate every bite. When I got up from the table that evening I remember hearing my Mom apologize to my Dad for the extremely burnt biscuits. I'll never forget what he said, "Honey I love your burnt biscuits." Later that night I went to kiss my Dad goodnight and I asked him if he had really liked the burnt biscuits. He wrapped me in his arms and he said, "Your Momma put in a real hard day at work today and she was really tired and besides a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone." I guess what I have learned from my Dad that night is that being happy doesn't mean that everything has to be perfect. So please pass me a biscuit. And yes a little burnt one will do just fine. - Remembered by your son, Mark Tenders FARM FOR SALE BY TENDER By Richard & Helen Harris Vacant land described as: South 1/2 Lt 23, Concession 7, Municipality of Morris (now Morris-Turnberry), County of Huron, on St. Michaels Rd., 100 acres, 61 workable acres, more or less. Officers noted the validation sticker on the attached rear licence plate to be expired. The driver was stopped and during the course of the investigation officers also learned the driver was driving with a suspended driver's licence. The driver was subsequently charged and his vehicle was towed away. Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers encountered the same vehicle and driver now travelling westbound on Londesboro Road.
