on Sunday, Dec. 4, were Terry
Richmond and Marilyn Craig,
ushering were Laurie Sparling, Terry
Richmond and David Onn. Marilyn
Scott was organist, Katie Dockstader
was choir director and Fred Hakkers
ran the power point.
Deb Hakkers welcomed everyone
to church. The choir sang the Introit
"Emmanuel" with the congregation
joining in the second time. The
children were asked to bring the
white gifts to the front of the church
to be blessed. Lilly Fraser was
invited to help Deb light the candles,
the Advent candle and the candles on
the altar table.
Rorie and Griffie Bromley
presented a story of how a pirate and
Santa Claus gathered their gifts. The
pirate kept his gifts that he collected
and Santa gave his away every year.
John McDowell and Deb Hakkers lit
the second candle, a candle of
"Peace".
Rev. Gary Clark drew everyone's
attention to the announcements
printed in the bulletin. The call to
worship was said in unison. The first
carol sung was "There's a Voice in

Rev. Clark's message to the
congregation was "Digging for the
Treasures of Christmas". John the

"Giving thanks always and for everything
to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!"
Ephesians 5:20
One day, Johann Tauler of Strosbourg met a peasant and greeted him,
"God give you a good day, my friend!"
The peasant answered briskly, "I thank God that 1 never had a bad day!"
Tauler, astonished, kept silent for a moment. Tauler then added, "God
give you a happy life, my friend"
The peasant replied composedly, "I thank God that I am never
unhappy!"
"Never unhappy!" cried Tauler bewildered, "What do you mean?"
"Well," came the reply, "When it is sunshine --I thank God; and when it
rains --I thank God. When I have plenty --I thank God; and when I am
hungry --I thank God. Since God's will is my will, and whatever pleases
God pleases me --I am never unhappy."
Tauler looked upon him with awe. "Who are you?" he asked.
"7 am a king!" said the peasant.
"A king?" Tauler asked, "Where is your kingdom?"
The peasant smiled and whispered softly, "In my heart!"
