Fed steers, heifers sell under pressure
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Oct. 7
were 2,048 cattle and 551 lambs and
goats. On Tuesday fed steers and
heifers sold under pressure. Choice
steers and heifers sold $121 to $125
with sales to $129. Second cut sold
$118 to $121. Cows sold under
pressure. On Thursday veal calves
sold on a good active trade with right
weight holstein calves selling steady,

heifer weighed 1,165 lbs. and sold

heifer weighed 1,140 lbs. and sold

There were 225 cows on offer.
Export types sold $77 to $83 with
sales to $86; beef, $85 to $95 with
sales to $103.50; D1 and D2, $77 to
$82; D3, $74 to $78; D4, $50 to $65.

consigned one simmental cow that
weighed 1,505 lbs. and sold for
$103.50.
There were 11 bulls selling $94 to
$117. Steve Durnin of Lucknow,
consigned one black bull that
weighed 2,260 lbs. and sold for
$117.
There were 160 head of veal on
offer. Beef sold $125 to $190 with
sales to $191; good holsteins, $127
to $135 with sales to $139; medium
holsteins, $115 to $125; Si heavy
holsteins, $120 to $128; heavy
holsteins, $110 to $120. Jim Maw of
Forest, consigned three calves that
averaged 811 lbs. and sold for an
average price of $179.76. Two blue
heifers averaged 838 lbs. and sold
for an average price of $191. Aden
