One busy night
Thursday, June 30 was a busy night across the Blyth and Brussels communities as soccer
players took to the villages' fields to play their best. Above, the Blyth U13 Girls team bested its
competition from Clinton 4-1 while below, the Brussels U13 Girls team didn't fare quite as well,
losing to Goderich 4-1. (Shawn Loughlin photos)

the response. Rev. Clark invited
everyone to greet one another. Being
this was Canada's birthday the
congregation sang "0 Canada." The
choir sang the anthem, "I come to
the Garden Alone" with Bodie Craig
singing a solo part, with the rest of
the choir joining in under the
direction of Katie Dockstader. The
scripture reading was from Galatians
6: 1-16. The hymn "When I Survey
the Wondrous Cross" was sung.
Rev. Clark's message to the
congregation was "The Birds and
the Bees" The play that opened at
the Blyth Festival this week was the
"Birds and the Bees."
In the scriptures, Paul's letters
showed that he liked everything
simple. He tells the people to be
gentle with one another.
Paul knows that when big groups
of people get together that often
mishaps happen.
We have to work together to be
happy.
The hymn "When I Needed a
Neighbour" was sung followed by
the receiving of the offering, the
offertory response "Your Work, 0
God, Needs Many Hands," the
offertory prayer, the prayers of the
people and the singing of the Lord's
Prayer.
The last hymn "In Christ There is
No East or West" was sung followed
by the benediction and the singing 'til We Meet Again."
