The Citizen, 2016-03-31, Page 16PAGE 16. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 2016. From the Minister's Study Earth aquarium is not final destination By Rev. Mark Royall Huron Chapel Evangelical Missionary Church Two years ago, I was sitting in the waiting room in the medical clinic behind the Goderich hospital. My attention was drawn to the fish tank they had there. I walked over to the tank and as I watched the fish swimming around, jetting back and forth, I thought about the smallness of their world. They were definitely bound and limited by the glass aquarium they lived in. I told myself...nothing is ever going to change for these fish. It's not like if they swim here successfully they will be released into Lake Huron or into the ocean where they can swim and explore with greater freedom. This tank is their life. I realized how if I came back here a year later these fish would still be doing the same thing, swimming around in the same tank, going back and forth until they died. Well, a year came and went and I didn't go back to see the fish in the aquarium. However, this past week, two years later, I decided to drop by the clinic for the sole purpose of seeing the fish. Guess what I found? They were still there, swimming .i1'(avvtie L1, Share your news by placing your announcement in The Citizen Call for pricing & details 519-523-4792 or 519-887-9114 £ivi Water anthem Tulip Sunday, April 3 krigP, CHUCK & SHANNON TALBOT Missionaries to the Ga'dang in the Philippines Evangelical Missionary Church Tues. 7:30 pm Lisles' Small Group 136 Patrick St, Wingham Wed. 10:00 am "Coffee Break" Women's Bible Study at CRC Sun, Apr. 10, 7:00 pm "Faith -In -Song" Christian Music Concert at CRC 10:30 a.m. — Worship & Sunday School at 308 Blyth Rd. These are fish. This is their world. It will always be their world. But this is not your world as a Christian. You are not here on earth just putting in time, waiting for death to come when someone will just throw you away. I have a routine early Sunday mornings where I drive into Clinton to get a coffee and a bagel. As I drive there I spend the time praying. On my way back from Clinton to the church I play praise music as I worship the Lord. It is a great start to my Sundays. However every Easter morning, I take a detour and make another stop on my way back to the church. I turn into Ball's Cemetery just as the sun is rising up over the horizon. I get out and I walk slowly among the BRUSSELS United Church WORSHIP SERVICE AND SUNDAY SCHOOL 11:00 am All Welcome Minister: Rev. Gary Clark, BA, M.Div. This aquarium we call earth is not our final destination in life. Easter is all about resurrection, not death. I remember what we read in God's Word where it says, "If our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has See histories and historic photographs on the Huron History section of our website www.northhuron.on.ca Joule 'J'nvitea JCS jolty 'Us cYYl lk/GISfO SUNDAY, APRIL 3 Morning Service 10:00 am Evening Service 7:30 pm Peter Timmerman from World Renew in Africa will be speaking. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life." 1 Corinthians 15: 19-22 Later that morning, at our Easter service at Huron Chapel, I was so excited when a person boldly and publicly made the decision to follow Jesus. They stood and declared their desire to have Jesus become the Lord of their life. I was so thrilled. The only ones who would be more excited than I would be the angels in heaven. The Bible says, "...there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents" This Easter another soul found freedom. This Easter another eternal soul realized the truth of life beyond the grave. They found the real hope for life outside this aquarium we call earth. This Easter another person is able to claim this promise from God, "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death" (Romans 8:1-2).
